Election 'Absolutely Unlikely' to be Fair: Suu Kyi
By KO HTWE Thursday, July 29, 2010
Detained pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi said that the Burmese election is “absolutely unlikely” to be free and fair because the election date has not been set and political parties will not have enough time to campaign, according to a spokesperson who met with her on Wednesday

Dear Myanmar Myo Chits Patriots and Friends,
Anti SPDC will say or write anything against SPDC, to discredit SPDC. That is a part of democracy. Love it or loath it. In Myanmar we say," Mapyaw Mapyi - Matee Mamyi " We have to say what need to be said.
I remember one day when I was young and playing I saw a good size ‘ centipede ’ coming out from the bush. I got a fright and threw a stone at it. Unfortunately my stone only hit it’s back, and broke it, not killing him. I pick it up with a stick and try to put it back into the bush, to leave it to its fate.
The event was saw by my mother, who was drying the clothes , who said, “ Ma They Ma Shin Malote Koung Buu ”, which means leaving centipede half dead is not wise, it can still give trouble, it can sting anyone who are not aware of it is there . When I am in this part of the world I heard people saying , “ You have to be cruel to be kind ” in English. Then I know what my mother meant .
Irrawaddy was quoting, military sources in Nya Pyi Daw. As usual, anonymous of course.
When Thein Sein and other resigned and left their post , naturally their posts must be replace as soon as they leave. Yet we are seeing Thein Sein and others who are the government wearing Myanmar national dress in recent days. We don’t hear anything about replacements officially.
The question was , “ When will Interim Gov't be Appointed?
Why do we need " Interim Gov't"? That is a very foolish question by a stupid idiot.
Union of Myanmar can do without this ‘Interim Government’, the same as they do in other democratic countries , such as United States, United Queendom and other demo countries. Elections can be held without ‘ interim government ’, elections commissions is there.
I have not seen any form of 'Interim Gov't' in the United States, the United Queendom, and other democratic countries in Europe when there is going to be elections , state or federal level?
SPDC can be the 'Interim Gov't', as SLORC was . Why can't some people see that, understand that? SPDC has to hand over the power to the next elected government which ever it may be, whenever that government is ready within 90 days after the elections .
It is the duty and responsibility of Myanma Defence forces, Tatmadaw and others. To see elections are peaceful. They must be on extra alert, vigilant during elections, for national security.
Do some people have in mind , to have each of the 27 EU member countries send 27 people with US as head of state as 'Interim Gov't' of Myanmar to hold Free and Fair elections in RUM?
They are not even fit to be the observers, because their mind are already set, with preconceived theories , prejudices, against the government of Union of Myanmar, any government if there is no NLD, led by Mrs Aris.
Are their set minds, preconceived theories, and prejudices against any government without Mrs Aris and some of their cronies can be called Free and Fair , or to be Free and Fair ? I very much doubt it.
Will United States, United Queendom, and EU invite Osama Bin Ladin and Al Qaeda and Talibans , or Hamas to be ‘Interim Gov't ’ whenever they have general elections?
This will never happened in their countries. I am sure.
Now, about this Mrs Aris again, who said to have said, “absolutely unlikely” to be free and fair . In this sentence the word ‘free’ is underlined ( high lighted ) . What else could she had said, what else could we expect her to say ? She is not free to roam around like others on the streets. We know that.
It is time for her to start looking at things from positively side. Positive thinking is necessary, it is important for people like her. She is different from others in everyway.
She is known as educated , an academic, an intellect, and a Noble laureate . If she does not care for herself , she doesn’t care for others , which means the people of Myanmar.
If it is not for her own sake , then for the sake of the people and for the sake of the nation, she should start thinking positively, looking at things positively, say positive things and do positive things, in the interest of the people and in the interest of the nation.
The way she is acting, her attitude and behaviours are the same as any other destructive elements. She cannot see anything positive what others are doing. She is a bit too much, over the limit, should I say.
Let us not forget that, when she was Free, she abused her Freedom , she was the one who ordered NLD to withdrew from National Convention. She is the one for some countries to imposed economic sanctions on Myanmar, making things difficult for the government to make progress and developments for the people and for the nation of Myanmars. She is the one who is actually against Union of Myanmar. She is the one who said ‘she would not dreamed of registering her party for the elections ’.
To tell her to keep her mouth will be not right , but she should know what to say what not to say.
What she is doing is, in Myanmar saying , “ Thu Myar Let Ne Yey - Thu Ga Chey Ne Phyet ”she is the one who is erasing with her foot, whatever others do.
Does she not realised that Myanmars are fed up of her, enough of her. Does her spokesperson Nyan Win not informed her what’s really going on , how many of her followers have deserted her, and have their own parties to take part in elections.
Is she using Nyan Win or Nyan Win using her.
I hope these dissident parties are not under the order of her. Another of her political strategy as political gorilla tactics, to fight against the government.
Does she not know it is time to reconcile, to unite, working together, for the people they love for the country they love. It is due time to go forward. We have other problems to solve together.
I don’t need to be a President or a Prime Minister or in the cabinet to serve my people and my nation . I can do from outside, as I am . I have more freedom, as long as I don’t abuse that freedom.
She had all the chances and opportunities to serve the people and the nation , she abused them time and time again. We all can see that, she is not helping the people or the country, let alone to help SPDC. That is understandable.
But she is trying to help herself and herself alone. When will she learn, and where will she fits in.
Is she becoming a “ centipede ” ? My mother said, “ don’t leave the centipede half dead ”.
Regards,
Thunderbolts.
