Philippines seeks $31 billion 2009 spending budget

MANILA, Aug 26 (Reuters) - The Philippine government will ask Congress to approve a 1.415 trillion pesos ($31 billion) budget for next year which assumes a budget deficit of 40 billion pesos, a senior government official said on Tuesday.
