He is freelance photographer and a travel writer residing in China. He is the author of "China: Portrait of a People" and had traveled all throughout 33 provinces in China. Meet tomcarter here.
What do you like most about China? China is never boring. It's challenging and exciting and colorful and eventful. There is never a dull moment here. Do you miss your life in San Francisco? I have not been home in four years and I miss San Francisco very much. If I could get a corporate sponsorship from a travel agency, then I could fly home to visit my parents. What do you like most about the work that you do? My work takes me to far away, exotic, remote locations and I get to meet so many kinds of people. But my work doesn't pay very much so sometimes I can't afford dinner. Aside from being a writer and photographer, what are your other interests? I am a big music and movie buff. The only problem is that all the CDs and DVDs here in China are fakes, so either I have to go without entertainment or I have to break international copyright laws. What do you like best about Asia Observer? Asia Observer is a great forum for discussing Asian interests and also a valuable resource for updated news and information from across the continent. My work takes me away alot so I am often not online.
