Jacques de Goldfiem today mood

March 15th, 2008

Sorry for these few days without my today mood. I was very busy

Today, I was attracted by a forum written by one of our members asking why we have not a forum on Tibet. I answered that I opened one a long time ago in “China, Hong Kong and Taiwan”

But another member said that means that I consider Tibet as a part of China. No, but as an ordinary member of A.O. where do you think I had to put ?

I have to tell you something, but please keep it secret. When I was a French official, I have been in charge of lunchs withe the Chinese embassy number 2. Every time she (he) insisted that I have to said to my government and French people that Tibet (and Taiwan) are part of China.

Every time, I suggested to her (him) that Beijing has to deal with the current Dalai Lama before it could be too late after his death

    Jacques,

It is very smart and nice of you to share your mood and feelings with all of us both the members and non members. It is amazing to read all your writings came out from one single brain. The postings are interesting and very human. No wonder you achieve the high scholar as Professor. China always insist on others to accept this or that. Their greed for land is unimaginable. Just because Tibetans had no army the Chinese take advantage of annexing it. Many nations succumb to Chinese pressure but an individual like never will for I will never exchange justice and freedom for nothing. To me Tibet/tibetans will always be an independent nation. I sincerely hope and pray this time the new US President that take charge on Jan. 20, 2009 will stand up against unfair China’s practices. Keep up the good work and share us your mood whenever you are free. My point of view Tibet needs it’s separate identity that she deserves and people like me that stand out boldly against China. But it all depends on the Admin. It is just my opinion Sir.

    Dear Jacques,

Thanks for making the point of Tibet as not being part of China. Unlike Taiwan, Tibet has never been part of China. China has occupied Tibet by force (which in itself an illegal act under international law) and ‘Hanisation if Tibet’ has led to this stage of civil uprisings.
The military regime in Burma may not come to the senses yet but our country will be down the road to ‘Tibetisation’ if we let the political situation as there are now. What a pity for those soldiers including high ranking officers who sacrificed their lives fighting against Chinese incursions into Burma using proxies such as the Burma Communist Party and ethnic groups like the Wa.
What the military regime ‘road map’ for Burma really is ‘becoming a servitude of China’ with the country’s resources sucked dried and the locals getting poorer than ever before.
Like the people in Tibet the people in Burma and those dispersed around the world should come to their realisation that this will be the best time ever to create as much instability as ever so that China is forced to change it policies towards Burma. Will the people shoot their own people while protecting the Chinese, I don’t think so? Needs to find out. Seize the moment, seize the day - the best time is now.
