January 1st, 2007

132 million Chinese citizens now have access to Internet.

The number of Internet users in the People’s Republic of China jumped with another 30 percent last year, according to the state Internet Network Information Center. China now has the second largest Internet population in the world after USA. Of the 132 million users, 52 millions have broadband access.
In addition, Alexa.com’s index of top global sites show that quite a few of the most popular web sites in the world are in Chinese language.
