China also has another problem a shortage of women. The “one-child” policy that came into force in 1975 and China’s traditional preference for male children over females means men between the ages of 21 and 36 are finding it difficult to get married. The government census of 2000 showed that the country has 20 percent more boys than girls, aged 0 to 4 years. That is, four boys will be competing for the hand of one girl in the future. Some men might not be able to find a bride at all.

Dear friend,

China remains the biggest beer producer in the world (in volume terms) thanks to foreign beer manufacturers investing in China. In the beginning of the 21st Century, more than 50 international beer manufacturers were producting in China. Many have quitted due lack of knowledge in the market.

As at today, the 1st 10 world beer producers have JV in China (representing about 20 % of market share). With on-going consolidation, China will certainly remain the 1st global producer of beer in quantity.

Dear Linsi,

I think the word "reigning" is more appropriate than "ruling" in accordance to the Constitution. The King of Thailand reigns but does Not rule. I know that some articles on the web put "ruling". Correct me if I'm wrong.

Hello,

In Asia (and/or in the World, particularly Europe), most of the Monarchy are reigning not ruling (like in Cambodia & in Japan), EXCEPT Bhutan & Nepal (where the situation changed sometimes)

Re:Do you know, that..... 2 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 18

hi caroline,
the topic is about monarchy and it includes history
so evolution of government set up is imminent.i agree that these monarchs reign, but with the exception of nepal and bhutan as you earlier stated, it gives us kingdoms were monarchs still rule-

if history is then included, kings and queens rule and through the evolution through time, new governmental set- ups rise, that includes current events which i aformentioned.

i hope you would join the room to enrich the topic more which i personally beleive is interesting.
