Hi Linsi,

Send me a PM about "archives" you talk with John, maybe we have the same concern, but I found two solutions for that

Why to open a new forum on a topic already opened by a member ?

I have , few days ago, opened one on "Security in Asia" and there a new one on "North East Asia security"

I think it is better to debate all together on the same forum for a same topic apart from who opened first the topic. It will be more vivid and there is no need to fill Asia Observer with hundreds of forums on the same topics, for instance on Burma.

The North East Asia Security and the "Security in Asia"
falls in one channel- the Current Events- that is right-

so maybe if a shared article is posted- the poster should refer to a certain topic in the forums which relates to it
in the form of a "NOTE" at the bottom of the shared article.

a while ago lanie posted something about singapore in Hello Everyone- there are several mix matches maybe because readers and posters donot have time to go over all AO sites, I mentioned about that to her, but i think she is in a hurry, but it can be arranged.

iam still thinking

but you have a point jacques.

Hello Linsi,

I am no more competing or tring to make point because I am old and got almost everything I wished in my life. Now I frequently refuse interviews or propositions to write articles or books.

The problem on Asia Observer is that we have too much forums. Very often one forum is open about just one day fact. So it should be better to give a more general name to them.

For instance, John has opened in last may one forum when the two Korea decide to send trains across the border. Now, They said that they will have the second top meeting since 1953. I was tempted to open a new forum, but I decide to update John's train forum because these two facts belong to a commun topic : the inter-korea relations.

If John can change the name of his forum, we could debate on the two Korea relations in the same forum and no open a new one at every event.

Re:What to share together ? 1 Year ago Karma: 19

hi jacques

it's good to discuss these things, like awhile ago, i was thinking about where to put the thread-Philippines-south east asia's terorrism hotspot because it can also fit in Security in Asia- but then i decided to post it in the country forum (Philippines)

i think at your age- life continues to be dynamic jacques-there are young people who refuse to grow and to open their minds, and there are older people who live life to the fullest and enjoy things, they also skip when young people skip their hearts with- i donot see anyone here by matter of age, i try to see everyone by their definition to be the best in every area of life- to contribute for the betterment of society because many young people waste their lives and never knew what life really is

by the way about Security in Asia- I will try to transfer my thread to your proposition in that topic of yours because you are right indeed-

we donot have classes and work today, typhoon 3 was hoisted this morning and i have more time to do things here.

I saw that more users are contributing to the shared articles and forums, such as Gabe, Choco, Seasir, Amazon and Caroline. That's good.

We need a lot of contributors and don't forget that quality is better than quantity

Post edited by: Jacques, at: 2007/08/30 06:06

Why should all comments about asia observer be syphoned into your thread alone? You can also put your suggestions to comments about asia observer et--al- don't you think so?

What is the importance of who created the thread ? If we don't want A.O. flooded by a lot of forums on the same topic, we have to concentrate one the existing ones.

I am not looking to syphon on mines. When I wanted to discuss on China future "What will be the next in China", I first asked John if wanted to open this forum and he replyed he prefer me to do.

Yesterday there was a news on death penalty in China. I have put it in your forum about death penalty and did not opened a new one on death in China

You are credited as founder of ALL ABOUT TAIWAN, but I am the only one animating this thread. I don't mind, the main problem is to have a forum to discuss on that

Post edited by: Jacques, at: 2007/09/15 07:12
