Each country is different from one another. Whether you're a local or just a foreigner living there, tell us that something that you find strange about your country.

I guess, number one strange thing that most foreigners find in Filipinos is our appetite for some exotic food like balut, *a fertilized duck egg with a nearly-developed embryo inside that is boiled and eaten in the shell.

The strange thing we "Burma" has is "Spiritual Dancing Parties" led by Gays. I wish I could send pictures of dancing gays with their colorful costume and faces. That's very strange for me.

Something really really strange about Burma is "Burma was used to be known as a rice bowl of Asia and Burmese were proud of it however nowadays many Burmese rice-farmers "peasants" have no rice left even for themselves to eat. In fact, they are forced to sell them to Burmese military as quota which is more than they can produce from their own paddy-fields. So they have to buy rice to complete their quota.

In Norway we have a dish called smalahove, which some people think is a delicacy and others find disgusting.

Here is Wikipedia's description:

Smalahove (or smalehovud) is a Norwegian traditional dish, usually eaten around and before Christmas time, made from a sheep's head. The skin and fleece of the head is torched and the head is salted and dried. The head is boiled and served with mashed rutabaga and potatoes.

Originally, smalahove was considered eaten only by poor people, but in modern days it's considered to be a delicacy.


Personally I have never tasted smalahove, and I am not sure if I want to either.
