This thread is for all Filipinos abroad who have either chose to migrate to another country and/or live there for good or decided to work in a foreign land for greener pasture.

Why did you actually leave the Philippines? Was it because you wanted or you had to? Tell us!

To seek greener pasture and secure a well-rounded future! Working abroad would certainly shave off a few years of labor obtaining security compared to working locally. I know that the basics only demand that we survive life with what is available around us and the Philippines does have something to offer on that aspect but when opportunity to progress more presents itself, it is only logical that we seize it.

There are those who take the challenge of being away from their loved ones because they are able and that they see the "bigger, more vibrant picture". It is still a privilege and more importantly a choice that is not for the faint-hearted. Note: You will seek the warmth only Filipinos can provide.

I chose to work abroad for all the obvious non-dramatic reasons. I may not always like it but it is safe to say that it can inspire anybody, directly or indirectly, Filipino or not.

A salute to all who chose this path.
