DEMONSTRATION IN FRONT OF SPDC EMBASSY IN JAPAN
A demonstration was held in front of SPDC Embassy Led by Arakan Rohingya Organization in Japan for Freedom of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi,U Tin Oo, U Khun Tun Oo and all political prisoners including NDPHR central executive committee and Committee Representing the Peoples' Parliament (CRPP) member U Kyaw Min and his family members who have been serving 47 years and 17 years term illegal imprisonment in the Insein jail in Burma which marks the completion of 2 –years of U Kyaw Min on the date of March 17, 2007 from 3pm to 5 pm.It was first demonstration in front of SPDC Embassy which was organized by Rohingya themselves along with the Rohingya political history in Japan.
Salim Ullah President of Arakan Rohingya Organization-Japan, members of JARO and other activists in Japan participated by a number of 45 activists in the demonstration. Some members of human right groups also came to take part in the demonstration. The Speakers were Salim Ullah President of JARO and Nyi Nyi Soe Vice president of JARO. U Nyi Nyi Soe was the guiding spirit of the demonstration event.
At the beginning, Salim Ullah President of JARO has read joint demand letter which have released An alliance of 6 – parties in overseas namely the Arakan Rohingya Organization-Japan(JARO), the National Democratic Party for Human Rights (NDPHR - exile) USA (HQ), World Rohingya Congress (WRC) in USA, Burmese Rohingya Association in UAE (BRAUAE), Rohingya Youth Development Forum (RYDF) and National Council for Rohingyas in Malaysia (NCR).
In the second part, Nyi Nyi Soe vice president of JARO delivered speech on the current political situation in Burma.State Law and Order Restoration Council had hold general election in May 27, 1990 and changed State Peace and Development Council. The dictatorship promised to hand over the power who were elected in 1990 general election. But, the dictatorship has denied to hand over the power although NLD and other parties elected in 1990 general election. Moreover, the regime has ignores the election result and the members of parliament are being persecuted and imprisoned. National Convention has been holding and arranging for new election by the regime of hand-picked delegations. We denounce and strongly condemn this National Convention and new election.
U Kyaw Min one of the victim who was sentenced 47 years term without any justifiable ground and proper case on the fabricated and so-called Emergency Provision Act 5J and acts relating to the nationality laws along with his wife, two daughters and one son with 17 years term on the same ground by military government. Today March 17, 2007 which marks the completion of 2-years illegal imprisonment member of CRPP U Kyaw Min , We call upon the State Peace and Development Council military government to immediately release U Kyaw Min and his family members including pro-democracy icon Daw Aung San Suu Kyi , U Tin Oo, U Khun Tun Oo and all other political prisoners.In conclusion,Arakan Rohingya Organization-Japan(JARO) will be fighting to restore democracy, human right, freedom and end dictatorship in Burma to co-operation and collaboration with other democracy activists by peacefully he has added in his speech.
The protest was ended with denouncing and slogan against the dictatorship peacefully by participants. Ko Htin Aung who is one of reputed reporters of Democratic Voice of Burma for Japan has took reports the whole program.
