NLD said in their statement:

"We haven't seen effective assistance to storm victims, even though the authorities have declared (regions) as disaster zones," the party said
"It is extremely unacceptable because they are giving priority to the constitution process without respecting the social difficulties faced by people during this disaster."

Now we will look at what the government has done since the beginning of the Cyclone:

30/04/2008: State Radio announced that cyclone Nargis was approaching the Pathein city
01/05/2008: State Radio announced that cyclone took more strength and now heading to Irrawaddy Division and Sea water level could reach to 10 feets high
02/05/2008: Senior Manager U Tun Lwin gave the explications about Nargis cyclone and which preparations must be done in the New Light of Myanmar and state radio announcing the pre-cyclone advertisements continuously all day of 2 May08. U Tun Lwin said that cyclone could be reached to >100 miles /hour and declared several telephone numbers for 24 hours cyclone news update
Later the same day on TV and Radio, announced that cyclone would hit Yangon this night with 75 miles /hour and sea level could reach to 12 feets. And warned people to stay inside homes

03/05/2008:
At 01h00 am cyclone hit Yangon.
At 08h00 am, Prime Minister Thein Sein called emergency meeting for rescue opearions in NayPyidaw
Announced 5 regions (Irrawaddy, Yagon, Pegu, Mon, Karen) as emergencies regions
At noon: Prime Minister Thein Sein arrived to Yagon and started the announcements of causalities
At noon: Soliers, polices are doing clean up operations in Yangon. Army used helicopters.

04/05/2008:
All minister, deputy ministers arrive to all regions hit by cyclone
Army has used flight, helicopters for the rescue operations (sending supplies and etc..) in all regions especially in Irrawaddy division, Bogalay, Latputta and Heigyi Isalnd
Soldiers started clean-up operations in Yangon

05/05/2008:
Prime Minister Thein Sein arrived to Irrawaddy Division where cyclone touched severely
Army started transferring the people to Yangon Hospitial by helicopters
Manay army cars full with rescue items and rice bags arrived to Bogalay, Latputta
Foreign Minister met with diplomats and explained about cyclone damages
Internet/phone lines recovered partly
Yangon airport reopen
Distribution of water

There may be some facts I might forget.

But we can see clearly that Myanmar government is working maximum to rescue the victims and assist the people maximum.
They are surely the delays and transport difficulties but these are inevitable as we are very poor country.
How could the government do rescue operation during the cyclone at 1h00 am of 2 May? The opposition is complaining that the government delayed the rescue operation until 03 may. In the morning very early, cyclone hit Yangon, the afternoon, Prime Minister Thein Sein arrive Yangon to master the rescue operations.
How could we imagine rescue operation start at the same time with cyclone arrives at 01h00 am exactly.

Therefore as NLD said in their statement of 6 may 2008, the government is not working at all for referendum of 10 may. The entire government is working very hard for rescue operations and in helping the victims.

So NLD’s statement is totally false and wrong.

In fact it is the NLD who is profiting the Nargis cyclone to get political profits maximum, instead of cooperating fully with the government.
Besides they said they had organised a rescues committee at their own to help cyclone victims- with what money? Of cause I think that the US will give some of the 250 000 USD (because this money according to Laura BUSH will be given to NGO and not to the government) directly to NLD to do this operation. NLD is proud of it because the super power US is backing them at all cost.

I do not want to do any critics if they want to help people, but they are helping because they think that they might win something politically – postponing the referendum or a No vote.

Why they do not want to work the government hand in hand in this tragic moment of our country?

NLD is continuing on their wrong road not knowing where their end is.

Well done my friend , very well done.

While we are watching the footages on the world chennels and seeing Myanmar soldiers helping, assisting the victims,cleaning the areas, the oppoeition is saying that soldiers are doing nothing. How could they lie like that. I could not believe their courage to lie.

If only we haven't seen these footages , we might have to believe them. There are lots of Myanmar people who cannot afford expensive television sets. The best they could have is their short wave little radios in remote areas in villages. They are listening powerful radiostations such as BBC, VOA, DVB, RFA. They have to believe whatever they say, because they have no way of checking whether its true or not. These foreign station have fired all the first shots, They are doing it because nobody can touch them, yet.

Sadluy Myanmars are working for these stations. They are paid by foreign governments. They are the axe handles.

well done MHK well done. NLD true colour is aleady shown since they left the meeting under the order of Masukyi. but the problem with our myanmar people is, well you and I know, they still like to stick to the mentality of "nat ka yar kyi maut"!! still quite a few are willing to be subservient as soon as they see "white skin!". but also there are many who can understand our nation's objective and who are pragmatic in their approach, who truely are patriotic. Yes NLD will try their best to score politically no matter what, this is their JOB, they are getting paid for it. so like it or not they have to stick to their way for their livings.
If anyone can remember what the comment made by socalled firstlady and Inc when Katrina hit New Orlean? what happened in so-called rescue operation? where is all investigation? and yet they are now shouting loud with threatening tone insulting to our people and nation, adopting the attitude of "merciful saviour!!! anyway, there have been many practical assistance to myanmar people from quite a few countries without political agenda and I am sure myanmar is forever thankful to them.

Cyclone Nargis have passed leaving destruction and death along the way, mostly in the Irrawaddy Delta Region. The clouds above the country is gloomy and dark, it is not due to the weather, but the birds of feathers, mainly vultures hovering above the skies waiting to devour dead corpses and those who remain sick and weak.

Instead of coming together at this time of great need to help the victims, they are busy contacting other scavengers like hyenas, coyote, skunks and jackals to feast on Myanmar’s unfortunate disaster.

Beware! Right at this crucial moment, NLD, Ma Suu Kyi, activists in /out and Sein Win’s exiles gangs are in cahoots with the West, in full throttle planning and scheming. Their propaganda machines also are in full swing too, just waiting to undermining the Government efforts in relief work.

Using the aftermath of Cyclone Nargis, they will not hesitate to foment dissatisfaction amongst the population, instigate upheaval to create more turmoil in the country.
