I am Sir Thomas Stamfort Bingley Raffles, the founder of Singapore
Born on July 6, 1781, I joined the British East India Company and in 1805, I went to Penang (Malaysia) as assistant secretary of the new British governor.
In 1811, I mounted a military expedition again the Dutch in Java and after fruitfull negotiation with the sultan of Johore, I fonded the Company port on Singapore on 6 February 1819
I died in London on 5 July 1826. I was 44
