Crown of thorns Sea Starfish:
A stunning TV video that stunned me of this mysterious predator of the Sea that can wipe out entire corals of the sea/ocean.
These are the toxic predators that eats on ‘live’ corals. There are soft corals and hard corals. These predators feed on hard corals. Corals are living breathing, spawning creatures that beautify and give sanctuary to thousands and thousands of fish, craps, shrimps and all kinds of water creatures. The vibrant and abundance of many species of sea animals/creatures both small and big that surround the coral reefs are astounding. Of all the coral reefs, I would like to pick the ultimate and biggest one. The one that is so big, it can be seen from space. That is the Great Barrier Reef near Australia, one of the natural wonders of the world.
Do you know if not taken drastic and effective steps the Great Barrier Reef that we so much value, enjoy and take pride of our planet earth’s natural wonder will be gone entirely.
Just as cancer is human’s most dangerous enemy that eats up the good nutrients and left the human dry up and fill with toxic that ends or choke to death and destruction, so is the Crown thorn Sea Starfish that feeds on live hard corals and eats up or suck up all the good nutrients and left the coral dry and toxic, finally leading to death and destruction. The alarming thing that is on going at the Great Barrier Reef is the strong presence and fast multiplying of these Crown thorns Sea Starfish. One couple of this Crown thorn sea starfish or one female can reproduce or spawn 50 million eggs and they had 70% survival rate creating a strong potential to survive and thrive thus they can fill the entire Great Barrier Reef and kill it. There is at least 4 million of these Crown of thorns Starfish eating the corals and expanding their colony currently.
In humans too there are “predators” who prey on weaker ones, the defenseless ones and so on. These ill will and ill minded evil doers are like the Crown of thorns Starfish that will destroy the entire humanity one community, one city, one state, one nation, one region, one continent at a time.
Nobody knows what makes these predators multiplied so many and so fast. What makes these sea predators come in, take hold on corals effectively and efficiently. Some scientists are studying this phenomenon as natural or man made? So far some scientists say the progress of farming in lands close to sea or close to Great Barrier Reef, the tropical rains washed down toxic nutrients from the farms into the sea killing some of the species that eats or prey on Crown thorns Sea Starfish, thus these thorny starfish are left to multiply and uncheck. The toxic chemicals that washed down with the rain into streams and rivers into sea also make these starfish thrive. Any way it is still in the process of study and research on this dangerous threat to Great Barrier Reef.
Any person that thinks/supports killing its own people is patriotism needs to check up with psychiatrist for their mental status is seriously dysfunctional correctly.

Post edited by: Paradoxan, at: 2008/02/17 21:45
