Dear patriots, friends and colleagues,
I found this wonderful prayer from the Tibetan tradition and wanted to share this with you.
This is the prayer for Burma/Myanmar.
============================
May peace harmonious bless this land;
May it be ever free from maladies and war;
May there be harvest rich, and increased yield of grain;
May everyone delight in righteousness;
May no perverted thought find entry to your minds;
May all your thoughts e'er pious be and lead
to your success religiously.
Tibetan Great Yogi, Milarepa

Metta,

[i]Any kind of praying is good. I accept that BUT..........don't you think it is naive to pray just for Burma or MyanMar only? Don't you think it is very narrow minded and selfish to pray for only one part of Earth? Do you realized that MyanMar is part of Earth? Burma is only a small section of South Asia or South East Asia not to mention the entire Asia which is one of the continent of Earth. Do you realized Burma is part of the world and must not act as if she has nothing to do with the world. Burma must take up responsibility and share the duty as a member or part of Earth. Don't you think so? Small or Big it doesn't matter but knowing and acknowledging the responsibilities and duties as part of Earth is important. What ever and when ever there are things to be done in goodness, mercy and understanding in which ever way a nation can contribute to humanity is the duty of ALL nations of this planet. Wouldn't it be nice if a person prays for the entire earth including Burma or MyanMar? Wouldn't it be nice to show gesture of goodwill towards mankind? Wouldn't it be better the whole world lives in peace and harmony although knowingly it is difficult. Praying for just one section, one race, one country, one religion, one gender is NOT a wise thing nor the best thing to do. When I talk (pray) to Jesus Christ, I did not pray only for Christians nor America ONLY. I pray to ALL mankind including Atheists who don't beleive in God. Never mind atheists don't believe in God for it is their choice and their rights to do what ever they want to do. Judgement belongs to God only and he will judge according to that particular kind of person according to his/her conduct.
This is the very kind of problem Burma has that I want to point out and it is one of the many problems Burma and Burmese needs to change. Their attitude, concept, mindset, insight, perspective, perception whatever you want to call it. As long as Burmese do not change, the country will not change or at least will be at very very slow pace just like a snail's movement.
In other words the brains need refreshment or refurbishment or reprogram just like a computer not to mention brilliant ones move out of Burma because of selfish repression by spdc. When the computer is getting many years of virus infection not to mention the fast development of technical advancement, I certainly acknowledge that it is time to "upgrade' or "update" or even rebuild anew (computer)! Now, that is my concept. Burmese brains are effected, infested by long rule of military which had invaded into all institutions and feed overwhelming propoganda stupid stuffs that eats out the bright brains of majority Burmese people that now the entire nation stood still. Not only that the rulers' mentality is showing they are moving backwards to the days of King KyanSitThar era. Past is Past. Myanmar had no more empire. Myanmar is behind of Thailand, India, China in a very big way. Do the Burmese people see that? I don't think spdc sees that in fact spdc see Myanmar is great, advance and modern nation in fact in reality it is the opposite. That is called delusion. The very perception of thinking, treating Burma as separate entity is just pure short sighted, unwise, narrow minded (not broad base) conception which is a defect to promote advancement and prosperity. Being "patriot/patriotism" is one thing, having the "perfect perception" or "pursuit for perfection" is another.
I can write on this subject more but I don't want to dull the audience with many words and statments so will stop for now. I will present or contribute a compelling example later time. I will give a hint. The topic is "Crown Sea Starfish".[/i]

I want to add something. When a "Government" I repeat "Government" is moving Monkeys and doing Monkey business in conjuction with Kangaroo courts with rubber stamp judges, I definitely think some kind of serious mental problem occurs. Like it or not the status of Burma reveals itself. If any one does not sees that, that person's mental deficiency shows the lack of understanding in reality.

My dearest UKMyaing,
Thanks , but no thanks.
I am not here to agree or disagree with you, but let me express my view.
" Koung Daw Koung De - DarbeMei Myet Si Sutt Te " , which means " it is good, butits burnimg my eyes".
No offence UKM no offence at all, with due respect. If that Tibitan prayers doesn't work for the Dalai Lama and Tibitans, I don't think it will work on Myamnmar or any country, as simple as that.
These religious beliefs are bringing the people down, bringing the nation down. Making the people and the nation weaker and weaker. I think it is due time people understand and accept that as fact of life.
I think we may be misinterpreting or translating the teachings wrong. We may be misguided by those who we thought are learned persons on these.
As I understand it that Buddhism is not a religion but it is a way of life, I tried to understand the first summon,
(Damma Sekya) four noble truth and eight fold path in my own way and womnderfully they all fit into the real life.
I am not influencing you anything, I am not telling you to do anything, but if you try and read them again you will understand the real meaning which will fit into real life. There is where I accept Buddhism is the way of life.
Our beloved land of Myanmar is already blessed. You kmnow that don't you? We have to get rid of the demons and evils and satans, whoever they are. Prayers won't help UKM, believe me.
Have a nice day,

My dear Thunderbolt,
It is unfortunate that you did not like what I shared.
It is ok.
Whether you like it or not is up to you. It is your right.
However, let me just say this.
A prayer is a prayer and it cannot work unless the person who prays really believes.
Whether it worked for the Tibetans or not is beside the point.
"Hope springs eternal in the human breast."
I do not think the teachings of Buddha bring us down as a people. Whant the Buddha taught was to believe in Kamma - the resultant of actions done in the past will follow you like a shadow. I think it is a good teaching and many great religious traditions have the same teachings about good deeds and bad deeds.
We do not have control over what we did in the past but we do have control over what we are doing in the present and what we will do in the future.
Isn't it better to generate positive thoughts than to be consumed by harted and thoughts of revenge?
I agree that Buddhism can be regarded as a Way of Life.
I would rather call Buddhism "Buddha Dhamma" which means the teachings of the Gautama Buddha and all those Buddha's who came before him.
So I agree with you that Buddha Dhamma is a Way of Life.
Myanmar has been blessed in the past but it still needs blessings in the present and in the future.
There is no harm in getting as many blessings as possible. Don't you think so?
Metta,
Km

Don't forget to mention that. Don't write only one side of Burma. There is also the negative side. Negative and positive is universal. Don't be naive and foolish to say one side. Show the whole picture and tell the truth nothing but the WHOLE truth.
Don't worry, you guys will be on check. Don't try to concealed the truth just like your criminally insane bosses does by blocking internet and jailing the democratic opposition. Propaganda BS is only for idiots and fools to buy it.

Dear Ukmyaing,
To start with please accept the fact that if it is not me , there will be some body who will disgaree with you. If it is not you thare will be someone who will disagree with me.
My appology for being late again for my reply to your reply dated 18/02/08.
No, Ukmyaing No , it is not OK. It is not that I did not like it , it is that I cannot agree with you on that. Because we Myanmars have been wasting too much time and too much money on this. We are becoming weaker and weaker economically, politically ans of course socially .
When the Pagodas and Kyaungs (monasteries) and this and that were built for Myanmars, that was the time Myanmars could afford. That was the time there was rulers with absolute powers . Only what they said is right, only what they did was right. That was the time there were rulers and the ruled.
Remember all the famous buildings in every country all over the world, including the Pyramids of Egypt Anka Wok of Cambodia , not to forget Shwedagon of Myanmar and unfinished Mingunn..
If I am not wrong that was the time Myanmrs was remembered as great. Like it or not all the energies and power and wealth went to these buildings and while the rulers were living in the fort like buildings the people were living in the huts in the fields. Their back were burning in the sun their feet were in the mud up to their knees.
Myanmr was rich with natural resources. The rulers were rich and the people are poor.
Adding to this, when the Buddhism came to Myammar, the teachings of Buddhist came. The version was different, some said Buddhism was brought to Pagan where Bamars were. Myanmar by King Anawrahta took initiation.
According to some experts, Buddhism is a reformed Hinduism. Buddhist Himself was a dissident of Hinduism. And he was in self exile.
Whatever the story was the teachings of Buddha is the way of life. Which is, a day to be born and a day to die. Between you will suffer. How to prepare your live for your living before you die How to live and how to fit in, in the society. That is the practical of living Ukmyaing. The logic, if you would like to say.
I don’t know for sure Christians, Jew, and Muslims, so I am not going to discuss them here.
And those who observed the Buddhism Buddhist Monks and clergies had be come professionals.
DANNA or charity, is nothing but to give away is a kind of blessing. SILA is another kind of blessings because you behaving well following the precepts. And BAWANA ,supposed to be accumulation.
I never reject the Buddhism , I only put the Buddhism into practice.
I don’t complain about me being poor. I am not jealous of somebody being rich or better than me. Sas you had said it, its all Karmma.
That word “ Karma ” the meaning of that word is still in dispute. For people like me
It is the “ effort ”. How much effort in what way I put it in in your life will decide my fate and my destiny.
NOBODY IS EQUAL ACCORDING TO BUDDHA.
Do we accept that or not.
I take it as I am because Buddha said , my fate and destiny is already there. If I have nothing to share, just enough to feed my family and my self there is nothing I can do about it. I can’t blame my poverty is because you are rich.
Buddha also said , He understands that life is so busy and complicated, if we have time we should meditate , discuss his teachings , if we have extras give away to others willingly ( because you are robbed or looted).
In English it is very clear, “ take what you need , and leave the rest ” Which controls your Lawba, which will produce Dawtha and in the end it will take you to somewhere else., to destroy you.
Here you go again UKmyaing, “ A prayer is a prayer and it cannot work unless the person who prays really believes.”
We pray for many things, we wish for many things. We don’t get nothing for praying, We must be very careful about what we are wishing. If we wish wrongly we can end up with nothing. At lease we will have only what we’ve got, like the man with three magic arrows. That is what I am talking about Ukmyaing.
The teaching of Buddha is not bringing us down . I agree with you totally . The misunderstanding of Buddha’s teachings, the misinterpretation of His teachings can definitely bring us down for sure. That is what happening.
Some of those who preached us Buddha’s teaching are those who are among rich and wealthy.
To give you my answer, Ukmyaing , only “ The ignorance of the people will bring them down“. Not the Buddha’s teachings, that is for sure.
Tibet has nothing to do with us, but we are Tibeto Burman, according to some records.
If you look at modern Tibet history, you will find Tibet was invaded by foreigners, the Lamas were slaughtered. It was looted. Now in the end Dsalai Lama is in exile and Tibet is govern by Communist China.
Once we Burmans ( Myanmars ) were heading to that direction . Pagan became a desert. Burmans( Myanmars ) were rich with all their Pagodas, Monasteries, Stuppas, and Graves with no name.
Some people may like to say, in the name of peace, in the name of humanity Dalai Lama went to exile. never raised an army to repel Chinese or other foreign invaders. That is all bull shits Ukmyaing excuse my language. United States of America has just honoured Dalai Lama with congressional medal of honour or Gold Medal, Ma Su Kyi is next in line. Why not United States went into Tibet and repel the Chinese to restored democracy and human right in Tibet, instead of praying? This is another story.
“ We do not have control over what we did in the past but we do have control over what we are doing in the present and what we will do in the future.”
You knock me on my head with that sentence Ukmyaing, really. If Myanmars don’t change their ways of thinking, their ways of believing , their ways of doing things eating, sleeping and shitting, they will not change Myanmar.
Saying Buddha said this, Buddha said that will not change Myanmar. Buddha lived over two thousand five hundred years ago. Burma may be behind as much as those years.
For your information, when Myanmar founded Pagan, say at Anawrahta’s time of AD 1044, United States of America was nowhere in the world Ukmyaing. Are you impressed by the American saying “ In God we Trust or God Bless America”. It has nothing to do with God everything is to do with the people. Rulers and rulers alike.
If I am not wrong when you said “ the resultant of actions done in the past will follow you like a shadow.” you may be referring to some people, I have nothing to give you a strong argument. Sr. Gen Than Shwe, or Ma Su Kyi , you and I, we are of no exception , do we? You can have a look from every angle.
Having said that what is happening to Myanmar and to the people of Myanmar can only be “ the resultant of actions done in the past will follow you like a shadow.” or is it something else?
“ Isn't it better to generate positive thoughts than to be consumed by harted and thoughts of revenge?” Tell that to the demo campers
When you said, “Myanmar has been blessed in the past but it still needs blessings in the present and in the future.” it would be very nice if you could elaborate on that, how it was blessed.
To male you happy I will agree with you to some point on “ There is no harm in getting as many blessings as possible.” The 38 Mingalos or the blessings are not enough for Myamars that‘s for sure.
My dear Ukmyaing please don’t forget that we are talking about politic for the future Myanmar. It depends who will give the needed blessings to Myanmar. What will be the cost . You cannot expect a Buddhist Monks to come to your door to give blessings free. it will cost you something.
United States of America, United Kingdom and EU or Russia or PR China, who will bless Myanmars ? Even they cannot agree each other.
Myanmar needs foreign investments, creation of jobs, higher standard of living, technology and Science, know how, that’s what Myanmars needs. These are the blessings what I am talking about. Is there anybody in your mind, who will and can bless Myanmars with these?
Nice talking to you Ukmyaing, like always.
Regards,
Thunderbolts.
