Dear Thunderbolt,

I want to discuss "performance and personality" today.

I know what you wish to point out. The "performance" of the SPDC government, I think.

No one can deny what the SLORC government and the SPDC government have achieved. This is in the domain of "awkasa lawka" or the material world.

If a person has lived a long time in a foreign country and visits Myanmar now, you can see a lot of difference.

That is laudable, no one can deny it. I agree with you on this point.

However, "man does not live by bread alone".

Also, there is another area which is equally important in developing a country. This is what is know in America as "HEW".

Health, Education and Welfare.

It is very encouraging to see all the bridges, building, hotels going up.

But what about the daily lives of the people.

Are they smiling or suffering.

What are they eating?

What are they wearing?

How are the students?

Are they dropping out of school?

Do they have enough exercise books?

What is the quality of their text books?

I know it is not difficult to be ruling as a government.

That is why wise men of ancient times do not wish to be in the government or any government service.

They just wish to live in the forest and do their meditation in peace, developing their inner peace.

There is also a saying:

"No deva can fulfil the wishes of a human being"

- lu aloh nat me leik hnaing.

I am not making these up.

Just reflecting what I see and what I hear.

After all, it this not the BEAUTY of having a forum like this.

This is a good escape valve.

Even in a person, if all the feelings are pent up inside, sometimes, that person may explode in anger or frustration.

You can imagine when all the feelings of 52 million people are pent up and there are no escape valves.

I do not wish to see any volcano erupting!!

Nice talking with you Mr. Thunderbolt.

"Moe Gyo Let Hnet Thagya Set", maybe that is what you aspire to be.

Metta,

Km
