Educated Muslims have long known of the plethora of scientific and industrial discoveries and inventions originating from Muslim scholars.
The only place where this is not acknowledged is in the West where the Christian religions, controlled by the Catholic Church successfully repress this information and claim credit for these advances in technology for themselves.
It's not up to the Muslims to promote themselves and their culture, but rather up to the ill informed and under educated Christian cultures to open their eyes and minds instead of accepting everything they are told.
The big problem around the world is the willingness for people to accept what they are told by those in authority without questioning it.
The fact that so many Christians don't know of the achievements and discoveries of Muslims is not surprising.
After the Christians had their arse's kicked and noses bloodied at Jerusalem during eight crusades it should be no surprise to anyone that the Christian religion would also admit that Muslims were more advanced in technology as well as in the art of warfare.
