And so the stench of the corruptness of the Philippines political system increases in strength ... and the rest of the world will laugh some more.

The womanising, gambling addict, action movie star and former president who was convicted of stealing tens of millions of dollars from the nation's coffers and sentenced to life imprisonment has been pardoned without serving a single day in prison or returning a single peso that he stole.

And surprise, surprise, there's some people who think that the current president might have cut a deal with his supporters so she isn't impeached.

But she doesn't really have to worry, because the next corrupt, so-called self-righteous God fearing, people-power supporting charlatan who gets elected to the top job there will surely give her a pardon if she needs one.

And so the game of musical chairs will continue. And more foreign companies will leave - as they are doing in Indonesia - where the judicial system also means nothing except judges who somehow manage to buy multi-million dollar houses on salaries that are only a fraction of that.

And when the filth and rot and hunger and depravation reach new heights the country will again put its hand out to the perceived wealthy western donor countries for more handouts which in turn will be siphoned off by the next incumbent.
