2 SEPTEMBER 1945 : JAPAN SIGNES CAPITULATION TREATY
On 7 december 1941, the Japanese forces attacked the US military base Pearl Harbor on Haiwai, killing 1500 people. So the US declared war to Japan.
At the end of the Pacific war, on March 1945, begun the bombing of Tokyo and the following month, the US troops landed on Okinawa.
But there was heavy US looses. After two atomic bombings and the enter of Soviet Union in the conflict, Japan finely surrendered on August 15.
It is officially on 2nd September that, on US Navy
Missouri that the Japanese authorities signed the official capitulation under the US conditions.
