hi rafael

yeah tnx, i have to read back first about
the history of russia, and it's culture
and then maybe find time to ask you
about the confusing areas.

but one thing on my mind is its geography?
talk about russia..it is a part of
asia? err..asia minor?

sorry for that..let me consult my history book

ask you later,

i remember watching two films which i appreciated much
i was amused about the cartoon "anastasia" it was about
a heiress of a russian czar? ( am i right?)
So russia was an empire..

and Kris Tucker's film- "Bad Company"
where most of the scenes were taken
in praque? I don't know the spelling
sorry for that..

and now you are in serbia? wooah! i really
have to read my history book
maybe i will ask outstanding questions next time.

Hi Linsi,

Don't confuse Russia and others ex-communist countries in Europ, even if in the Balkan some ones where under cultural russian supremacy through the orthodox religion.

Linsi, Jacques,

I think what we started is pretty wide topic

Serbia and other ex-yu countries did have some influence from russia in the past, and serbia does now, but it's not as much now as it was before World War II.

As for religion influence - being orthodox christians does have something with it (at least with Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia..., but not with Croatia or Slovenia as they ar catolics).

Anyway, Linsi don't try to catch up all at once - it's a bit complicated if you're not living here - take one step at a time

I'm here if you need any info about it

Oh, and one more thing about orthodox church: it's basically independent in all countries - there is no one major figure as Pope - every major orthodox church as it's Patriarch

Hi Linsi and Rafael,

The Yougoslavia history is very complicated, only one man,a communistleader, but free from Moscow dominance, has been capable to make live together Orthodox, Catholics and muslims.

I think it is better for you to get explanations from Rafael by personnal messages. It's not an A.O. subjet. I just hope that Rafael, as a Serbian, will not be too much on a one side position (as for Taiwan you hited a very sensible question).

Personnaly, generaly speaking, I deplore that a country could not be kept unified just because it is shared by different religions. A good leader is the one that is capable to make all the people under his rule to live in harmony.

Hi Jacques,

I agree with you on most of the things, and I also think it's better to speak about it through PM.

I think I'm pretty objective on that matter, but of course, I cannot be 100% sure about that It's a pretty rough area we're living in

Hi Rafael,

I started learning about Yougoslavia when there was the split between Soviet Union and China and keep an eye on Tito Attidude. I came back to this area with the Kosovo war in which my country has been involved and also tring to understand the bombing of Chinese ambassy in Belgrade during this war. I learned a lot on your contry and I visited it. It's why I could understand that it's not easy for a Serbian to be realy independant after the end of the federation.

What could be your personnal feelings, I respect them

Jacques, Linsi,

I'm open to discuss about this but let's do it through PM - it's not really an Asia topic

Anyway, it was sunny the whole day in Belgrade, but then all of a sudden rain fell down. Which is not so bad, at least it's not too hot here
