Choco,

Can you tell me more about BANGKA, such as how to get there, where to stay, what to eat etc.

I am interested in going there. What about the cost of living there. Must be cheaper then Bali.

Any flora and fauna to see there?

We believe that Borobudur was built the same era as one of our old city in Myanmar.

I think I will be in Bandung for about two months mainly dealing with ANTHURIUM for propagation and export.

By the way, how is Bandung? Please tell me more.

Hi Truthseeker,
I went there from my hometown, Palembang, using boat for around 1.5 hour (if I'm not mistaken .. coz it's been awhile). You may use local plane though.. it's available from Jakarta also.
Expense is much much lower than Bali, meal is no problem, mostly sea-food, chinese food, all yummy .. !! (I love eating too !!! )
Hotel is local, quite OK

I'm not familiar with local flora/fauna , I did some search and end up with beach results
Maybe you want to check this site : http://www.answers.com/topic/bangka-island

Bandung is a crowded city with small roads, people should be aware of traffic jam around factories area, and also should be paying extra attention on the street coz maybe all of the sudden there will be a public transportation in front of you.
Weather is OK in till 8 am, and cooling down around 4 pm, sometimes it's chillin' too in the morning.
Visit this site for more info http://www.bandung.go.id/index.php?fa=en.index

Hope it will help.<br><br>Post edited by: Choco, at: 2007/06/15 07:36

Hi Linsi,
Thanks !!

As my place is in JAVA ISLAND, I use plane for my travel.
There's a direct flight to Singapore and KL Malaysia from Bandung, but the fare is much higher than taking flight from Jakarta, and from frenz' experience.. the flight was a bit spooky coz there's always clouds around Bandung. :side:
My hometown is in SUMATRA ISLAND, usually people will use local plane to BATAM and then ride the ferry to Singapore.
As for Malaysia, dunno for sure, I've never been there, maybe someday will go ;)

Have you ever been to Indonesia ? Heard the news ?
Anyone else ..?
Tell me what dya think of Indonesia :cheer:

hi choco,

sorry for the late response, i always remember Java for three things, the infamous earthquake which sent the whole world shocked with fear, it was one of the world's most catastrophic event, I read it in the Reader's Digest and was
Featured here-

so when people ask where is Java? I know it is in Indonesia.
how did i know it? I answer: remember KRAKATOA-EAST OF JAVA-that is Indonesia and was my code since then.

second was the guava-
My father gave me so large a guava, sweet and luscious
when i was a child- wooah! basically,we donot have those large guavas here. My father told me it was from Java-
he usually travels from jolo, then sumatra then java during
his assignments in his work field, we lived in southern
philippines at that time (mindanao) so i am so familiar with
the moslem southern philippines.

third-
the famous java coffee, i am a coffee drinker--

maybe we can form a discussion about indonesia in
&quot; DO YOU KNOW THAT? &quot; board? I am most interested in
Bali- exotic!
