Hi everyone!

I will be going to Jakarta in three weeks and wonders if anyone knows a nice and cheap hotel centrally located?

I like to stay in places where restaurants and shops are close by.

Anyone?

Hi Kevin,

I have stayed a few times at Cemara Hotel. It is in Jalan Wahid Hasyim, close to the backpacker street Jalan Jaksa and lots of stores and bars. The staff is very nice, always helping out with everything. Cozy place.
Ibis hotel in the same street is another good option.
Both are in the 40-50 dollar price range, if I remember correctly.

I know Cemara. It is quite nice. Personally I would stay at Mandarin hotel if I could afford it (which I cannot, I am afraid). It is THE nicest hotel in Jakarta, I promise you.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions! I really appreciate it. I looked at Cemara on the web - and think I will try that hotel. It sounds nice.
