Some of the Shan , Chin, Kachin, Kayin and even some Myanmars may be rebels or insurgents or even terrorists, but they are Myanmars. They are brothers and sisters to one another.
To eleminate them, to anniliate them is to eleminate or to anniliate their ideas, not tokill them, execute them.
Myanma Tatmadaw is made out of all Myanmar
people from the groups of Shan, Chin, Kachin and Kayin and Bamars.
Whatever is happening in Myanmar is not like what is happenning in Iraq or in Afghanistan. US Vs Iraqis. US Vs Afghnistanis. Myanars are no foreigners to each other.
In every family there is always someone who could be called bad boy/girl(rebel). No matter how bad he/she may be, no parent kill them or execute them. The worse thing they would do is to abandon them. Yet love is never l;ost.
The Myanmar saying is " Toung Zo Palone Zo Thar Pyit Yo Htone Zan - Thar Zo Thami Zo Pyit Yo Hton Zan Ma Shi ". You can chuck away bad pots and pans, you can't chuck away your bad children.
If you understand that, you know why and what Myanmar Tatmadaw is doing towards these rebels. According to great Chinese philosopher Confucious, the war is undesirable, but when it has to be done. it must be done vagriously. Anniliation or elimination call it what you will.
Do you think, your fathers can eliminate Al Quida or rebels in Iraq and Afghanistan?
What do you think they would do if there are rebels in United States of America?
I have learned a thing or two about hopw the so called American treated the native indegenious people of the land. I have heard a thing or two about the Malatias or private armies in US, before that how a General was court marshalled because he suggested to make Army, Navy, Airfotrce and Marines seperate units. I have heard about new religious cults and their leaders, Jones, Koresh, Moon and so on and how they were treated by the US authorities. But US is nothing to do with me , but I learned them for my general knowledge.
When you learn Myanmar history it showed that there were rebels before, long long ago. The same as today. Fighting and troubles were/are the maiden name of Myanmar. But there is no love lost, if there are no middle men. Many rebels made peace with the rulars and then they rebelled again, that was nothing new.
Btw, Thailand involvements in the past long long time ago during their King Maung Kut and before his time, and today is different. That time Thai were Thais. Thailand was not influenced by anybody gvrom outside.
This is how nations were created, this is how nations were built. Every nation went through this period. In the making of a nation, blood, sweat and tears, flesh and bones are use as cement. That is normal.
There were times we talked about elimination,we talked about annihilation. When we talk about national reconciliation, confidence building, peace. we don't need to talk about elimination or annihilation.
PEACE deal with KLhun Za was struck. because Khun Za wanted peace. Mutual agreement was strucked. PEACE can only be made with those who wants peace. Peace deals were made with KNDO Chiefs such as , Kawcasa Hunter Thamhwe, Phado Aung San and many others from KNU itself. No peace deal with some other KNU members neaded by the late Saw Bo Mya. The fighting has to go on whether to eleminate or annihilate or not.
You already had rightly pointed out in the case of US., no armies within the army. Union of Myanmar must have Army, Navy, Airforce, Marine and Police under one command under one Chief of Staff, under one Defence ministary. No other private army should be allowed.
The day will come because with the leadership of Myanma Tatmadaw. Myanma will become one nation with all people as one people, like United States of America. Believe me. Myanmar today is much better than yesterday. Tomorrow will be much, much better.
