THE DALAI LAMA IS NOT A SEPARATIST

On 21 September 1987, the Dalai Lama, speaking in front of the United States Congress introduced his Five Points Peace Plan for Tibet, asking A large autonomy, as Hong Kong, inside People Republic of China, that he called a medium way, with Tibetans really in charge of the region for internal affairs, including education, religious, cultural and environment affairs while Beijing could keep Foreign Affairs and Defense.

He delivered the same proposition to the European Union on 15 June 1988.

IS NOT "HIGHT DEGREE AUTONOMY FOR TIBET" A VEILED DEMAND FOR INDEPENDANCE ?

Following is the text of an article titled "Dalai Lama hight degree autonomy for Tibet means overthrowing China's social system" by Hua Zi

DIPLOMATIC FIGHTING BETWEEN BEIJING AND THE DALAI LAMA

These last month the dalai lama had been hosted by several chief of state or of governement : Australia, Germany, Austria, Canada...

Beijing has been particulary infuriated by the fact that in October 2007, the dalai lama has been awarded, among several Nobel Peace Prize winners and others personnalities of the Congressionnal Gold Medal, the hightest civilian honor in the United States.

Worse, President Bush invited the dalai lama to meet him.

What it is not said is if he was awarded as a Nobel Peace Prize or as a spiritual leader.

It is only after the Tiananmen crackdown that the dalai lama started to be athorized or invited in countries having diplomatic links with the PRC.
