After 10 years under the PRC flag :

A) Do you think tha the principle of "One country, two systems" has been respected ?

Do you think thant the principle of "Hong Kong governed by Hongkongeses" has been respected ?

C) Do you think that the British system of an independant justice has maintained ?

D) Do you think that all the freedoms : trade unions, free association, Religion, press... are now at the same level than 10 years ago ?

On monday, I will be interwiewed by a leading French Radio about the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong under China Rule.

I hope more hong kongers would join AO.specially those who are
more inclined to economics, commerce and trade- anyway

i'll try answering one.

The "one country two system " has worked strongly in hong kong as observed and read through tabloids and other reading mediums.

There was a feature just tonight in tvb pearl about what made hong kong rise above the asian financial crisis and the sars epidemic that hit this territory badly.

it was the rule of law, free flow of informations and low level of corurption. Last year, (2006) Hong Kong imports from Italy rose to 8%, in terms of jewelries, and auto sectors and wine.

auto sector rose by 36 % last year, there are 1000 Ferrari sports car now in the territory enjoying the highest number per capita in the world, followed by Lamborgini, Italian jewelries and wine.There was a sharp rise in Italian trades in Hong Kong .

well that is one aspect and i hope i could contribute more.

Overall, confidence among foreign investors remained high
about Hong Kong, 10 years after the handover-

perhaps it is because italian foods and restaurants
are popular and numerous here, so they can push through with lots of italian wine advertisements

italian guys here also wink more often than french guys
