Do you think that the rise of a bourgeoisie wanting to have a saying in the decision making on economy throught polical ways may endanger the power of the Chinese Communist Party ?

When Deng Xiaoping launched the "Four modernizations" and the private sector. A very resisting conservative, Deng Liqun, warned that will provoke the rising of a bourgeoisie that will threaten the power of the CCP.

It is through that in a China, only focusing on economic concerns, the boss of the private sectors are aware that they are the ones who are the roots of the China success, mainly for exportations. So they wanted to be involved in the economic decision making.

The situation was for them : either to be involved in the decision making (inside the party but the bosses of private entreprises were denied to be members of CCP), or to be obliged to promote the multiparty system to be heared at the parliament.

It's why, in 2001, the general secretary of the CCP, Jiang Zeming launched the slogan of the "Three representatives" and mainly to allow the chief of private entreprises to become members of the CCP.

The last meeting of the NPC voted a law protecting the private propriety and there are dozens of delegates in the two chambers.

So the CCP has neutralized the potential threat from the rising bourgeoisie

For the moment i would like to agree, but i strongly believe that the few elites and the rising bourgeoise will be more prominent now that China has opened up and it will steer demands and will affect the current political system
of China in the next 50 years maybe but not now.

(that is my two cents view)

You are right.

Under Deng Xiaoping, we had a non-communist vice-president of the Republic : Rong Yiren the "red capitalist" and founder of CITIC. Currently there is a no-communist minister for the first time.

With all the sons of political leaders involved in business, the links between the CCP and private economic sectors will be more and more strong

The private secteur leaders will not be satisfied by only some delegates to the two chambers.

They are more influent by employing the "princes" (sons of communist leaders) and others guangxi.

A vice-president of RCP was not officialy member of the CCP. It was Rong Yiren, a "red capitalist", the founder of CITIC. Now, for the first time, a minister is not a member of the CCP

Re:What will be the next big movement I°n China 1 Year, 3 Months ago Karma: 25
After the Tian'anmen massacre, a lot of China watchers (I was one of them) predicted that the China communist regime will be finish in the next ten years. That din't happended. So, now we have to be more carefull.

I have proposed to open a new forum on that very large and important subject.

For a change in China, we have to discuss on several topics about what can be the conditions that could provoque the fall of the Communist party.

For me the CCP could loose his power under several conditions.

1) Divisions inside the CCP

2) A large aspiration in the country for a more democratic system

3)His power challenged by some forces :

31) The rise of a bourgeoisie wanting to have a place in the decision making on economy throught polical ways.
32) Everywhere in the world, the young are the sprout of the Revolution. Is it the case in China today ?
33) In China there are a lot of demonstrations. Can they provoque an organized uprising ?
34) Could the rising difference between income has as a result a fight against the CCP¨?
35) Are there others big problems challenging the CCP power, such as ecology ?

I suggest to discuss this points one by one.

Today iI suggest to debate on point 32

32) Everywhere in the world, the young are the sprout of the Revolution. Is it the case in China today ?In other words do you think a new Tian'anmen is possible ?

Last time I rised the question :

32) Everywhere in the world, the young are the sprout of the Revolution. Is it the case in China today ?In other words do you think a new Tian'anmen is possible ?[/quote]

For me the students are no not very interested in politics. They want get not only their diploma, but also in good position and getting a good job giving them a good salary. They have also to reward their parents who made so much sacrifices to pay their studies.

In this conditions they don't take the risk of to be expelled from the university just for a small critic against le CCP or the government.

The young people are now much more free than before for they daily life. For the Communist Party, the message is clear : do what you want, except politics or you will go in jail.

Even, a part of them join the CCP, because if they want to rise in big companies ou public sector, you have to be member of the Party
