To ALL members, moderators, male or female, learned or unlearned alike and thunderbolts,
IN the other heading of yours, I intend directly to you because you had mention that you do not want to hear or know anything about UFO. Did you not? Maybe others want to know or don't know is another matter. Remember this forum is for ALL to read and write or response or not to response. This is a public forum. Anyway, if that's what you want ,so be it. If that's what you choose, so be it. If that's what you understand, so be it. Your posting said about your status thunderbolts.
Now, since you declare you only interested in Buudism and Burma's affairs (mostly problems) let me ask you, what is the definition of the word "Burma"? What is "Burma" means to YOU? How do you understand "Burma"?
Can you elaborate that? As for Buudism, to be truthful and honest I am NOT interested at all but ofcourse you can discuss with anyone you like for it is your right and choice. Not mine.
So back to my question (as you had the right to ask, so am I). What is BURMA or MYANMAR if you prefer this word? in other words, how do you understand the word "Burma" or "Myanmar"?
Your understanding or knowledge or definition please. Sorry, I had to use a new heading for the other "heading" and the "posts" are not relevant. This heading concerns directly about Burma, you, me and beyond.
ZY.

ZynnYaw,
Frankl;y speaking , I am a Buddhist. I am still trying to learn Budhism and the real meaning of it, To help myself and to be able to help others how to live in this world.
Sorry to say that I don't believe in so called GOD, I don't even regard Buddha as God. HE never claimed to be GOD or he was son of GOD either. I have no dispect of other religion or GOds. Sorry again I have to use plural in God.
Buddha talked about three worlds, talk about suffering, and cessessation of suffering as four noble truth, how to do thing in right ways in eight fold path, and how to behave among others , in the society, through 38 Mingalas. A a lay person that's all I need to know, i.e, the dos and don'ts. That is more then enough for me as a lay man. If we digeset these first then we can be called good Buddhists.
Being Buddhist doesn't mean allowing others to sit on their heades let alone mto shit on them. Do you understand that?
For many other, who thinks they higher then lay people they have a lot to do, they have their parts to perform. If they think they are specials, then they have to do special things to deserve to be specials. Again, they have to realised the realiities and accept them, they have to do it them in the right ways or correct them, update them , and they have their dos and don'ts more then the lay persons have.
These are my very simple understanding as a very simple lay man on Buddhism and I am trying to be a good Buddhist in my own way like anyother believers in other faith would say for themselves.
I don't want to, I don't intend to fly in the air like a bird or a plane, or like a rocketman, what you said as a UFO. I am not living in fantacy world, not breathing in drean world nor am I in the world of make believe. I am living in the real world with the realities aroundme, I try to see them as they are.
The concern of real world are my concern, and everybody's concern.
Yes I asked you the question about GOD, not because I want to know, just because I wanted to see what your view would be.
I don't want to know where the eggs came from, I know the eggs are here. If I ask you about the egg and the chicken problem, you might say they are created by GOD or something else. What I am seeing in my life time is, if men cannot find the answers to the problems , they use GOd as a name to praise or to put the blame on.
You are here, I am here, we know who our parents are. That is all it matters.
If this so called GOD is the murderer, if this so called GOD is the tyrant, if this so called God is the destroyer, if this so called God wants to be the one and only, if this so called God does not allow other to be other God of thneir own, why do we need this so called jealous God?
Even though I told you that I don't want to know about UFO, you are still preparing and ready to tell us about it, not necessariloy telling me.
I cannot stop you and I won't stop you. but just don't address to me.
In my view and in my opinion, Myanmar's issues and matters today are much more important then the so called GOD. We need discussions on the issues and on the matters , we need to find out ways and means to solve these, to assist Myanmar. We don't need any discussion about GOD or UFOs. They won't help us a thing.
You may think I started it, no ZY I did not, I was replying to one UKMyaing who said to be living in the United States. As usuall like his master, he thinks and wants to lecture me or us on Budhism. He may want to use Budhism, he may want o hide behind Buddhism I don't know, that's his problem. I do not know where he is now, he just disappeared, his website is still on as AungZey, he never reply my email to him either.
There are enough religious fanatics in the world, we don't need no more. There are more then enough fake and bogus so called Buddhist Monks in Buddhist circle.
Killing a fake or bogus Buddhist monk is nothing more grave then killing a dog or a cat. We have to be very careful not only in the Buddhist society but also in anyother religious societies. Using religion as a weapon shouild not be permitted by the respective religious society. Any religion must be kept as clean as can be.
If I don't discuss about religion or about Gods in future, you would not mind would you? But most of the time I may be reffering to Buddha, and his teachings, if he ever exitd or not as you have said. Whether he existed or not doesnot matter to me mush, but the soc alled hius teachings which I bwelieve are right teaching , I will follow his teachings.
In this 21st century, men posses knowledge to know how old this planet or this world is . They may also know Buddha existed or not, Jesus exited or not, Mohammed existed or not, to answer your questions. His birth place, his death place, whatever associated with him are said to be still there in Veranasi in Nothern Indian State of Bihar.
These are already on record, accepted as they are. Of cause they may need to be updated with or through new found evidences.
The world is still under investigation, how it started what or who created it, that sort of things. We all are subject to be investigated.
It is said when men's life span comes to 80,000 ( eighty thousand ) years, there will be another Buddha called Arimittaya. Believe it or not is up to you. Because I won't be here at that time.
The deads(Zombies) won't come out from the cave like Lazerous did.
Thank you,
Thunderbolts.

I think, its not the important to discuss Burma is right or other one is right, the most important matter is there who have the right to do it or not. Handful of army group challenge to 50 millions Burmese, and said that “I change the name of the country and there you don’t have to say or vote anything”. Seem to me that their message is “I fuck you all Burmese” and what you can do.
Then they rape Mogyo mother and daughter, but this poor little small creature doesn’t have enough knowledge to understand. There one thing is sure; the ethnic revolution is not because of the name.
Note: Myan mean “first or quick” and Mar mean “strong”
and Burma is named by British

Let me jump into the debate. Burma or Myanmar is the short name for the country. The full name is “Union of Burma” or “Union of Myanmar”. It is very confusing. Some called it Burma and some Myanmar including many governments or media etc called differently. One thing for sure, in western world Burma is well known and not Myanmar not to mention the name Myanmar ( they usually pronounce “My and Mar”) is hard to pronounce for foreigners. When you say I’m from Myanmar many foreigners replied where the hell is that? (Sure it looks like hell on earth now a days) And I mean literally if you pronounce correctly. I remember when I applied for US Passport and in the section where it ask “your birth place” I put “Burma” and in bracket “Myanmar” (both) but when the Passport came back it was imprint “Burma”. Some ask me how do you call the people of Myanmar? I replied “Myanmars” but mostly foreigners (including Asian Nations) called them Myanmarese (or Myanmarcheese?)
Well, to me when you called a name for a country, the full name is the most proper name. Example like USA or US. The best way to call for this country is the “United States of America”, that’s the full name. Same with Burma, the proper way to call that country is the “Union of Burma or Union of Myanmar”. According to “may” it seems the ruling regime does not have any respect or approval from the people of Burma/Myanmar. They just imposed what they want. This is “rude, uncivilized and disrespectful to all including their own citizens.
This name problem is on going and it should be stop or put an end for it is so confusing and complicated to do things for simple matters like mentioning the birth place/country. These are small little things but this unsolved problem makes it more difficult. Well, what can I say? For this is Burma unlike any place in the world like Rudyard Kipling wrote. I agree with him but the only difference is it is unlike (different) in a bad or worse way than others.

Hi may,
Thank you very much for being very responsive. I admire your guts. I know facing evil is no easy. You are right and I agree with you. Name is just a name.Which one is right which one is wrong is another matter for it is the CONDUCT that matters/important. It can be any name if the ruling government does not respect the dignity of its own people. They name "Naypyitaw" as the Capital don't they? What right has the people of Burma has? Are the people regarded as "animals" where they treat them like one? The people have to live what the regime prefer? The people have to vote what the regime want? The people have to cupped their hands like treating the Sit Thars as their Gods? To me Sit Thar is a Sit Thar. No more no less. It is disgusting to see the Sit Thars acting like Gods [thunderbolts' usage with an 's'] with Guns on their hips. Many tourists are shying away from Burma because they do not want to take a stroll (walk) along the beach when one can see hundreds of floating dead bodies. Will they? No one in the right mind will spent his/her hard earn money to go places where dead bodies are floating or diseases can be contracted and one can get sick, very sick. Will you go? I won't. Not in a thousand years. Only FOOLS will go.
I am still waiting Mogyo's response if he is polite and decent enough to discuss or debate in a thoughtful, meaningful and civilized.manner concernig with Burma issues like he declare. This forum should be a sharing place for all thoughts and knowledge, big or small, right or wrong as you had mention, the CONDUCT of one matters the most.
You mention "the ethnic revolution is not because of the name" so my question is, in "your opinion" what is the "cause" or "reason" of ethnic revolution that is on going for half a century in Burma? Can you please kindly response, please? You can also ask me questions silly (thunderbolts' usage) or not.
Thank you again for being responsive and active.
With due respect and admiration,
Zyn ( Ring Finger )

ZY,
In my last message to you I clearly said,
" Even though I told you that I don't want to know about UFO, you are still preparing and ready to tell us about it, not necessariloy telling me. I cannot stop you and I won't stop you. but just don't address to me."
Was there anything suggeting, that I tried to stop you in any way? Was there anything suggesting this is not a forum for everybody? Was there anything suggesting that I tried to censor you? TNo ZY they are all in your mind .
I am sure a person like you noticed that I made it clear the word " I " and the word " us ". I believe they are different. These are not small prints, they are quite visible. " I " is only me, " us " is everybody in the forum. With that understanding I used those words. Even though you address to me against my humble request , I cannot not stop, all I can do is not to reply to you, because I don't need to. Ther are so many viewing, so few takes part, to express their view or to reply to any of us, They have their rights, they are exercising their rights , no harm to any one.
If you want to pick words to words, sentance to sentance, pick them rightly. Let me make it clear again ZY, I am not stopping you for saying or doing from anything. You can say whatever you like , you can do whatever you like. I don't need to say this, you know that you have your rights. The rights , yes that word again has full of meanings. Use those rights sensibly.
Smear campaig is one of the weapons in politic, the most wicked kind of all. That is one of the last things use by desperate people to attack somebody.
in politic.
Again my dear ZY, I don't want to know where the egg came from, I told you haven't I? I don't want to know where the human beings came from, I don't want to know where Burma or Myanmar came from. They all are here on earth today. that is all it matters.
To answer your questions , I don't know about others, but if I want to know or I only have to look in the books of knowledge. These books are my teachers. Even those in the books may be the beliefs, views and opionion, some solid proofs and evidence may be there sometimes. That depends on the researchers whoever they are. For many things nobody is 100% sure. Could be , may be, possible and assumtions ?
True ZY, you are right, I don't need to answer you, reply to you, if I don't want to. That is my right, I think. I said " I think " because I am not sure. Why? Because there are people who are talking about human rights, preeching from their mouth, but as a matter of fact, in practic, they are imposing their will on others some times with force. That is why i said " I think " . I am still trying to understand the real meaning of anything and everything.
I hope you and your fellows/collegues can understand that.
Thunderbolts.

What's wrong with you?. You don't want me to address to you. OK, I don't put names so readers please figure it out yourselves. My question is NOT about "where" the egg come from. My question is NOT about where "Burma" or "Myanmar" come from. Read my question carefully please. My question is.......................how do you understand the word "Burma" or "Myanmar"? Every one has his or her understanding. May had present his opinion and that's great! And I'm NOT judging right or wrong for I ain't no judge. I just want to exchange or explore the possibilities concerning BURMA. I'm not talking about the dictionary's definition on the word "Burma" either. I am talking about YOUR "independent thinking". I know you don't want to know "where" the egg come from. My question is I'm NOT asking "where" the egg come from. I am asking "what" egg means? If you read my sentence I think there is a big difference about "where" the egg come from and "what" egg means. Sorry if I confused your brain. Now don't get me wrong for I'm not talking about English grammer for if you rank the top five 'worst' grammer usage I will be one in the worst five. Since you are the most knowledgeable person from the OTHER side, I had no choice but to pick you. Forgive me for that. Ordinaryman1 ran away, Kmyaing "mums" (silent) and you are the only prominent one (who talks/writes a lot) to debate.
I'm glad Paradoxan brought up the word UNION. Now, that's the hint I would say.
Any way thank you very much to be a responsive (not responsible for don't confused again with responsive and responsible for they are two different words and have big different meanings) member in this forum. I do enjoy exchanging views and knowledge/understanding betwen us and with all.
Let's forget all of it (petty differences) and concentrate on BURMA ISSUES and try our best to make Burma a better place. Shall we?
Thanks,
ZY.

May,
I haven't got much to say, but only one question for you. Have you seen the State Seal if the last King of Myanmar Naing Ga Daw, the last king of Konbon Dynesty? If you haven't seen it, try and look for it. I am not going to tell you, becuse I don't want you to know, because I say so.
On that State Seal it was said , " MYANMAR NAING GAN DAW ". look for it and you will find it. That is all I will say.
There are many countries and nations in the world. They have had their own names . But when they came under foreign occupatioons, most of their name were chaanged into English names. They were not with the consent of respective people.
Manmy names of streets and roads were changed in Mynmar , Delhouse Road, Frazer Road, Commissioner Road, Merchant Road in Mynamar are changed to Anawyahta Lan, Maha Bandoola Lan, Konthe Lan, Bo Gyoke San Lan . Did you have any objection?
Myanmars always called the country Myannmr Naing Gan Daw. Myanmar Naing Gan opr Myanmr in short. It's always been that I know off. It is a appropiate name.
Burma is not even English, it came from Indian language, Barama. English were i n India mny years befor they were in Myanmar. So they use Burma to uit their tongue and accent.
Some politician interpeted Burma belongs to majority Bamar group of ethnic race in Myanmar. it was discriminatary. That caused a lot of problems among national races.
In 1988 and after that ruling junta changed the name Myanmar. It is recognised by the United Nations.
There were many nations changed their former names to present names. The whole list of them. For instance Ceylon to Siri Lanka, Kampuchea to Cambodia, Zaire to Congo, Rodesia to Zimbabwe and so on.
Whose permittion does a free, independent sovereign nation need to change its name?
In the new constitution is is to be called Pyi Doung Zu Myanmar naing Gan Daw.
If you study the names of nations in the world , their own people call their nation their name. But English speaking people called them as they like.
Wwll once upon a time , as the song goes, " rule Britania , Britania rules the waves " , The british cll other as they like, while they are under them. Nobody had a rght or a choice.
For few example in Europe, Deutchland is Deutchlan by the Deutchers, which is known to you as Germny. Neiderland is for the people of Dutch but it is known as Holland to the world .
Your name is May,yu chosed that name because you want to be called May. Definately not Yam.
Some people have very little thing to do, they are creating a problem from what is not a problem. That is what I am talking about, some people are imposing their will on others , as their rights, disregarding other people rights.
Myanmar is no more a colony of anybody, Myanmars are not coloniel slaves, though some of them still want to be.
I am not here to be liked by any one. If somebody likes me, that is a bonus for me. Ther are some who agrees with me, who agrees some of my points, who disgree woth some. That is the point I am making , to express my view and my view only.
Nobody is my friend, nobody is my foe either. I say what need to be said.

The reason I ask the meaning of the word "Burma/Myanmar" is when ever there's a problem we must know why, when, where, what the problem is and try and find good solution to solve the problem. IF we don't even know the problem how on earth can we solve that problem? That's why I started with the "name" of the country and how different we understand it. I do not expect 2 persons with the same answer for no 2 person (including twins) think the same BUT we do have to understand the meaning to start with.
I am trying to find solutions to solve problems tbat many did not understand or notice. My inspirational scientist is Professor Einstein. I want to explore the possibilities of finding "good" solutions.
OK, let me present MY own independent pure and genuine understanding on the word "Burma/Myanmar"( the name difference doesn't affect me). To me, BURMA/MYANMAR means in our time a land area ( 261,228 sq miles) in size bordered by countries namely Bangladesh, India, China, Laos, Thailand AND Bay of Bengal/Andaman Sea/Indian Ocean. BURMA/MYANMAR means that particular land that I mention and "anything/everything in it" which means all the forests, mountains, rivers, animals (land or water) etc but most important of all is the humans, more than 135 ethnic races within it. Within that boundary that I had mention, all living things, plants, animals and humans are "subject" or "belong" to a named called BURMA/MYANMAR.
Just as Than Shwe lives in a palace in Naypyidaw and eats, sleeps, walks and so on, any person who lives within that boudary also eats, sleeps, walks too. The difference is Than Shwe lives in Naypyidaw and had power and wealth while the others live in different places or even in a forest or in a hut and mostly with no wealth or power. What I meant is that ALL are subjects to BURMA/MYANMAR.
Will stop for now.
