Dear Patriots
I am sure everybody had studied the draft constitution thoroughly.
Whether they accept or reject is their rights. Individual rights may not necessarily be right for the nation at the moment or for democracy and human rights Democracy and human rights mean a lot more than what some people are talking about, they should know that.
Whoever the leaders may be it is impossible to do something for all people to like it. Buddha could not do it. Jesus could not do it, Mohamed could not do it.
Under circumstances and situation one must do what is needed. A government or a leader of the nation has to do what needs to be done for the people and in the interest of the nation.
For example, it is like social matters such as arranged marriage. Parents from both side have every good intention for their children’s welfare and future . In Myanmar it is called " Sin Sii - Myin Yan " which means parents would like to see their children riding elephant and with lots of horses around them. The bride and groom may not have met before , let alone loving each other But whatever is needed come later, including wealth, health and happiness. And they lived ever after.( Most of them )
United Kingdom of Great Britain has three Parliaments. England Scotland and Wales. They have hopes one day Scotland and Wales will be free, independence and become Sovereign nations. When will it be I don't know, I don't think anybody knows. That may be pessimistic, let's say one day if respective people want it, strive for it , in democratic ways and if they respect democratic principles.
Frankly speaking, and with due respect to other national races Myanmar originally consisted three Kingdoms such as Mon, Yakhine and Bamar. There are so many stories to tell how Scotland or Wales came under English crown. Some of the stories may be similar to the Myanmar stories.
But Myanmar cannot go centuries back to feudal states.
To make it short, today in Myanmar a long awaited New Constitution is ready.
In my honest opinion and in my view from the beginning of the NC there is democracy and there is human rights. If some body wants to say there is no democracy on the streets for the mobs. In the eyes of some it may not be the same as in US or in Britain. They may be right That is because we are Myanmars.
The New Constitution gives us democracy and human rights, which we are lacking to day in the view of some These rights they are talking about are political rights. This particular right may be not there 100% but these rights are still there in Myanmar if you only have a thorough knowledge of democracy and know how democracy works.
Most of all there is a chance to get rid of the military rule( SPDC Government ) soon by supporting it, to replace SPDC with civilian rule( Government). We all have to grow up with it, not only to make ourselves and the democracy matured but also to take root in Myanmar in years to come. One day at a time, one thing at a time.
The fact is in years to come or in future this constitution may need have to be amended, and it can be amended as necessary when situation and circumstances permit. The constitution itself said so. common sense says so.
Situations will demand, circumstances will demand for it.
If we are matured people, with matured democracy we can and will over come any difficulties. We had democracy before, this time we need to look after it, take care of it , value it and treasure it. Most of all make this democracy to take root in Myanmar.
Regards,
Thunderbolts
