Here is the news from Mizzima:
Meanwhile, the opposition forces are not making official comments on barring DASSK from contesting the election but there are widespread differences and heated debate on whether there should be a 'total boycott' or 'NO' vote in the forthcoming referendum.
If the referendum is free and fair, "total boycott" is impossible as SPDC will have votes from Army, USDA and government servants. Most probably the vote will be "YES". So, there will be more chance on SPDC.
SPDC is wooing all government servants in Naypyidaw providing land in the new development area and asking them to vote "YES".
News coming from Naypyidaw saying that all the staffs will accept the land but the vote will be "NO" if the referendum is free and fair, i.e., not open voting.
SPDC has only Army's family (may be not all will get the "YES" vote), USDA, SPDC business associate members, some ethnic groups and some opportunists. Let's say there will be about 15 millions "YES" votes, who are actually benefited with SPDC. THEIR BUSINESS WILL NOT BE DIFFERENT WHETHER THE CONSTITUTION IS APPROVED OR NOT.
THE MOST IMPORTANT IS "Another 35 millions votes"
These votes will be coming from ordinary people of Myanmar, who are actually suffered under Military rule. So, it is time for them to decide their future and express their real feeling towards SPDC. It is not necessary to come out to the street and shout freedom or democracy. This is the best opportunity to show off people desire.
SO, 35 MILLION PEOPLE, WHETHER TAKE IT OR NOT, IT IS ALL UP TO YOU. THE FUTURE IS IN YOUR HANDS.
EITHER F*** OFF SPDC OR F*** OFF YOURSELF.
CONSIDER WISELY!

"NO" and suffer just a matter of time, and work out together for the better future of your generation.

According to the official records from 90 Elections:
there are 15 Millions out of 20 eligible voters had voted
NLD won nearly 7.9 Millions pf these
NUP won nearly 2.9 Millions of these
The main point for winning "No" vote depends on what the opposition propose in return with?
If people feel that by voteing "No" they will win something better than the present constitution i think they will vote "No", in the opposite, they will vote "Yes"
I think that the referendum will be as fair as in 90 Elections.
So what the opposition will propose to the Burmese people in return with "No"?

The opposition will propose genuine democratic laws that protect the rights of all including the military. I don't think the military regime had the hearts or brains or eyes or ears to let the nation prosper in a proper decent dignified way. All these militant generals want is their rule, their power, their wealth and their constitution to protect them for centuries (as long as possible). There is nothing new on the upcoming referendum for General Ne Win (the disgraced dead dictator) had shown the way "how" to manipulate and exploit the state, people and the laws in disguise and deception. The military had done it in 1973 and is now going to repeat it in 2008. Their agenda remains the same with different names or Generals. Nothing new, it is from "Burmese way to Socialism" to "Burmese way to disciplined democracy". It is just a matter of words, statements change with no essence nor credibility involved. In other words these attempts by Myanma Tatmadaw is design for idiots, fools and morons (retarded brainers) to adhere. It is design for people with brains that rely on others and do not had the capability nor ability to stand, think, decide/judge and proceed on their own independently (like you for example). Forget about this gunpoint or jail term referendum for this charade will be just like wasting the time drafting "their" constitution for 14 years (1993-2007) with no legality nor weight.
