The following is what I found in soc.culture.burma. I paste it here for you to have a thought.

All I can say is ,everybody including prostitutes themselves must do their best to try and stop or deter the spread of sex related diseases. Sex education in this trade is strongly recommand.

We may be arguing for our different reasons.
We may be accusing each other for different reasons
We may be attacking each other for different reasons.

But the truth is the truth that we all know.
Prostitutes are prostitutes. Pimps are pimps.

Nothing to do with a person being poor or a nation in poverty, or because of the mismanagement of a government.

Sadly, the fact is that there are many wealthy and rich democratic nations with the democratically elected government or not , which honour full human rights.

In all continents prostitution flourish. Americas, United States, UK and European or Scandinavian nations, Africa, Asian or Australia.

It is his/her human right if a person wants to become a prostitute or a Pimp, he/she can become one.

There is nothing anyone can do or stop it,

If Myanmar becomes democratic , peaceful , developed and prosperous nation, there will still be prostitutes, there will still be pimps, they may even be thriving richer than you or me.

If you like it, call them they are the Assets of a nation.
