The only way for the "pro-military proxy political party" to win in 2010 is to barr or even ban the popular opposition NLD party and its leader completely. This is what they are doing to make sure this time they cannot afford to lose the election like they did in 1990 for they know very well that the people not only dislike them, they dispise them in murdering innocent people and monks many times. In the hearts and minds of the people, the junta is mostly hated and will not get the genuine support or votes and the junta knew and conduct all along to rule forcibly through intimidation, fear, repression and unjust methods. They had rule one form or the other for 46 years and they will continue to rule. Burma is in the grip of home grown fascist that will never let go their power no matter what including murder, assasinations and even sell out the people and the country inexchange for their hold on power.
Their kind of democracy is to barr democtatic party and detain or restrict democratic movement.
