Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto has been assassinated.

The 54-year-old was shot in the head as she left an election rally in the city of Rawalpindi by a man who then blew himself up.

Bhutto died in hospital. At least 16 other people were killed in the blast. The assassination comes just fortnight before elections are due to be held.

Bhutto was elected prime minister in 1988 but was deposed in 1990. In 1993, she was re-elected but ousted again in 1996. In 1999 she argued that corruption charges against her were politically motivated and she went into exile. She had only just returned to Pakistan this year.

Bhutto's father, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, was Pakistan's first popularly elected prime minister but was deposed in a military coup and executed in 1979.

Yes, really sorry for her. Pakistan lost her mother.
Daw Su was lucky in Depayin from SPDC thugs . We can't afford to loose her.

Here I must agree with some one to a certain extent. " Daw Su was lucky " yes, very lucky.

But. if those in SPDC were real thugs, you won't see Ma Su' alive today, not even her bones nor even her ashes. Think about that, think very careful about that. NLD leaders are all still alive, except a few who died of natural causes.

What ever will be will be.

Remember Banazir narrowly escaped from the first one, but she was finished off on the second.She took innocent extras with her.

Don't forget Kenedy's family in the US. Some people said both Kenney's and Bhutto's family are curse, the same as Nehru's daughter Mrs Ghandi's. We have trans in Aung San family, Ko Aung San's grand father Bo Min Young head was chopped off by the British. Ko Aung San was assassinated, Ma Su Kyi's brother Aun San Lin was drown. According to her supporter first attempt was made at Depeyin on her life by teh SPDC's thugs. Who knows , her family is also cursed or not. Who knows a second attempt will definately fail.

Anything can happen at anyone at anytime. to him or to any one. It is not necessairily by the SPDC thugs. it could be anybody if she was realesed and if she is roaming about like Banazir Bhutto.

It would also be a set up by her followers, those who said they love her. Most likely one is the dearest and the nearest one to her might kill her and blame SPDC for it.

There is nothing to be happy about Banazir's death. The death is un-avoidable, death is certain, itb is a sure thing. In their daily prayers Myanmar Buddhist say, will they be free from this kind of death. "Upaysayda Kan" they called it.

Accoprding to many historians and many authors on who killed Aung San (R) Bo Gyoke Aung San. Ko Aung San knew he was a gonner, he cried infrong of Riginald Dorman Smith.

Many authorities , army, police, criminal investifation department (C.I.D.) knew , all the intellience units knew, they all know who the culprit would be before anything happened, up to that morning up to that moment up to the second the killer left U Saw house. Just because U Saw himself was niot with the killers, sipping the whickey at his house. They were watching and watching and just watching and let it happened. There was no pre-empt strike. All man are innocent until proven guilty. To be guilty he/she must commit a crime, not before that. Is that it? Whre is the prevention of crime gone.

Those who wrote about assassination of Aung San, who translated that book forgot to mentioned that point.

Well if that was what we Myanmars believe, that was the fate of Ko Aung San.

Political assassination in Myanmar are very rear. U Saw on Ko Aung San and his cabinet, Koreans on Korean in Yangon.

freedom or not the governments of Myanmar won't let it not happened, It only happened in free countries. where freedom means anything for some.

Now his daughter Ma Su Kyi is under house arrest. SPDC said it is protective custody. Yes military government detaines almost every politicians, but nobody was killed or assassinated. It was for her own safety as well as for the safty of the Union of Myanmar and its people. If SPDC wants to do it to Ma Su Kyi who is going to stop them? You can shout a loud afterwards. Those who accuse SPDC of this cowardice crime are those who wants to harm Ma Su Kyi.

In Buddhism " Upayseyda Kan" is the worst. Death by the hands of others. Buddhists pray every day to be free from this kind of death even they know the death is certain and the death comes in many ways at any moment, they cannot escape from death.

Some people wants Ma Su Kyi released whether because they love her or hate her, hard to say. A person can be killed for love , a person can be killed for hate. Some times a person is killed to set somebody up.

As a matter of fact, Ma Su Kyi has nobody to thank but SPDC. Ma Su Kyi has nobody to trust but SPDC. I think she knows that already. She is lucky that she is the daughter of General Aung San of the Myanma Tatmadaw.She should be proud in the right way. SPDC is doing her a bigest favour that nobody enjoys in any other country, democracy or not.

If it was not because of the SPDC , she been gone long ago.

United States of America hides nothing. They CIA hides nothing. They sent some of their men abroad to kill someone. They pay someone to kill someone . They will still, dead or alive. It is called bounty. It is acknowledge and recognised by international as legal.

One Myanmnar by the name of Khun Za was wanted by US. for $2 million bounty , dead or alive I am not sure. But Khun Za died a few months ago in peace. He was not the subject of
" Upyitaayda Kan". Though he was known as Opium King, or War Lord, supposed to have done bad things he escaped from it. It could be said that Khun Za must have done good deeds in his past life if not in this life.

Buddhist Monks came out to destroy SPDC . instead they have destroyed themselves, their order and the Buddhism itself.

Don't do it for love, don't do it for hate. Whatever you do, use your common sense.

well happy new year to you all, even the crazy campers, no matter what their intention and conviction to their socalled cause, as a myanmar, even though this is not our traditional way of seeing the new year, just to recognise prevelant acceptance of 2008 calendar year!!
that out of the way, now back to the business of myanmar affairs=
1) perhaps these socalled campers should start learning all about- who killed aungsan and certain perspectives of conspiracy theory- how to control myanmar by certain countries
2)perhaps they also should learn about socalled a friend of hill tribe etc christian solidarity etc activities and fundings to you know who
3) the more I explore inside campers the more I realise how dangerous game they are playing for Myanmar without knowing a s--t about our culture, history and implication and most importantly repercussion for a long run
4)particularly assk should really know the history of myanmar politics and its players inside out and the involvement of brit and neo-group nowadays in our country affairs
5)I see the sign of transformation in Mr.green and I am still hopful that they will carry out the tasks for myanmar collectively
6)Mr.green really really needs to realise the value of time now,better than ever, there are things they can start doing to curb the corruption and malpractics of officials including the high rankings- noone is above the law that include EVERYONE!! I hope &quot;practice what one preaches!
7)banking sector is starting to instill certain things-encouraging but pls start creating a core group in each sector of transformation especially in armforces

We all wish a happy and prosperous new year and we wished many times before But I don’t remember When was the last time we ever saw a happy and prosperous new year . I in Myanmar or in the world. I don’t remember one.

We Myanmars had the same tragedy one like Pakistan today. India had once as well.
Ma Su Kyi was only two years old, if she say she remembers she must be lying as well. My father said this, my father said that. Her father had no time to say anything to his daughter who was only a tiny mini minor more. She may be just echoing, what her mother said or what other said what her father said. her.Many young people are very lucky or fortunate in a sense that they have no experience the 50s. So they don’t know what the elders are talking about. Most of do not know they had their peace or who created it for them..

They don’t know Thoung-jan-thu or terrorists, did exited and does exits today. We have to draw pictures of Thoung-jan-thu for them to see. But they may not believe it. They think SPDC is the terrorist and it is making the problems to prolong its rule. They are talking about getting rid of SPDC they never talked about getting rid of real terrorists. They do not know who the real enemies are. So they make themselves terrorists.

To learn is difficult. Most Myanmars do not want to learn. They have no time. To teach them is more difficult, because there are so many who has learning difficulties. Especially when they are getting to come to age , the more they are afraid to learn.

“ Aah Thon Lon thin-dan”(3 Rs)is more than enough they think. So they practice “water follow fish follow” the only way they know how. That is what they know and that is what they are doing. Is that Aah Thone Lon enough for democracy in Myanmar?

When they are called “ blind “ they don’t like it. Blind men never afraid of the ghosts. When they are blind how can they read. Most Myanmars are very easy to tricked into. Myanmars who used to be animists will believe in anything , in any one who they think can . They think too much of the whites and too little of their own people. Myanmar even lost their common sense.

To inform them about Friends of the Hill People, Christian Solidarity or Christian aide. They are them. Those may be tall stories for others , they don’t want to know, they don’t want to make any research.

When we talk about it they think we are still living in the past. They think they can built the future without taking lessons from the past. May be they are afraid, they may find out the truth, the truth they can not face, the truth they cannot take.

For them everything is the game, especially at the time where the games are on sale. What they don’t know is they are not the real players, they are only the pawns. They want to abolish whatever is their own. Culture, tradition, customs way of life, etc, and adopt those who have not have anything to be called their own. They only have.“ Wi-lit- Sa-lit culture.

As far as Ma Su Kyi is concern, the problem is she thinks she knows everything. She does not even know she herself is a pawn. We all know what is Myanmar going to be if she had her own ways. Unfortunately Myanmar is becoming one of the whore houses of Southeast Asia,where Ma Su Kyi is the most popular and the biggest PIMP. Some people are already calling her Madame Su Kyi or Mama san. She has been awarded with ,many prizes for making Myanmars prostitutes and Union of Myanmar a whore house.

Before he died Ko Aung San was afraid Myanmar would become a whore house. He warned the Myanmars against it. But his daughter doing the opposite. Town and cities, border areas, neighbouring countries , there are Myanmar girls working as prostitutes. Bringing AIDS, HIV to the country.

There are many things in Myanmar need changing. But continuities and changes must go together, We are no monkeys, we can‘t let go one branch in hand before we grab the other branch firmly. We can catch the two Snake fish at the same time either.

Seven steps road map is the one. One step by one step. It is coming closer than before.
If everything go well . After the New Constitution which is now being drafted by 54 representatives it will go for referendum and elections and Myanmar is on the road to democracy.

The problems we are seeing in the elections everywhere are the elections are not elections if the opposition or the pro west parties, don’t win. They cannot take or stand the defeat Win or lose they must win. That is the order of the day and they wanted free and fair elections. Only when they won, this will be acknowledge and recognised as winners in free and fair elections. If the opposition do not win they will say the elections are rigged.

I don’t know how many Myanmars have seen, but I have seen many times that the opposition stormed the parliaments seized the parliament and used the tanks and bombarded the parliament in the name of democracy, that‘s what they called non-violent way The elections will never be free if the other wins. They losers can not take with a smile, for them there is no tomorrow.

These Mr Greens know what they are doing and what to do under circumstances as far as situation permits. if only they are given chance, which means not to disturb them If only they are given genuine help and assistance What they will not do is to break up the nation into pieces, they will not tolerate that . What they will not do is to take Myanmar back to time before 1885. Where Myanmars were killing each other on their own or with the influence of outsiders, to grab the absolute power.

In the past since 1988 or so, these Greens had been bashed from lift and right and centres. They could not do anything right. They are being punished, never been rewarded for anything. There is always somebody dictating them. Things will be much better if the are left alone. How can you be sure Shin Gyi will be better than the Kyar?

Banking sector, operating internally. This cannot be done without outside the help or understanding from outside, IMF, World Bank , even ADB.. Kyats value is too low, there is no words to express. The Greens know what to do, they also know the country cannot take it, the people cannot take it either.

How many billion of dollars, it cost to destruct Iraq and how many millions of dollars it cost to reconstruct Iraq? Could they not do in peaceful way? You may have your own answer to it. The Greens, the blues. the Browns the Blacks or the Reds, what is the difference?

In Myanmar, the saying is “ Lu Kyan Yin- Htyan Dote Kha Noung Phyit” If somebody doesn’t want to do it, it won’t happen.

The Green won’t put Myanmar on the market for sale. Ma Su Kyi might do it.
Remember it was the foreigners, business people and investors who created Anglo- Myanmar wars.

Not trying to be nasty, who wants peace, who wants Myanmar to prosper? Is it not what SPDC doing ? Is it not peace and prosperity for all Myanmar? There is a price, a small price to pay , are Myanmars ready and prepared to pay that price. Sometimes Peace and prosperity can make some people out of work.

Myanmar at the moment, not everything is in bad shape, Myanmar is relatively in peace many people prosper more than before. There is no denying. For those who have negative views on Myanmar (SPDC) will never see the positive , progress and developments in Myanmar. If we study 60 years of Myanmar politic and its leaders we will know whether Myanmar is progressing or not. At the toime when Myanmar was flattened with debris and ashes , the people from demo camp were not foetus yet, their parents might have nor even been born yet.

Every leaders had his favourites. U Nu and his cronies in his time. U Ne Win and his lackeys in his time. Sr Gen Than Shwe and his followers. A leader always reward his men and women for their loyalty That is every leader. It is difficult to say, right or wrong, because Buddha Himself told his followers ( monks,) not to eat and drink with given back any present. He meant Dhamma as present. But Myanmar expect presents , gifts. This has becomes their culture which amount to bribery and corruption. .

That is why I always ask, how much Ma Su Kyi owes to the international community for their loyalty?

How much Bush family &amp; Dick Cheney benefit from Iraq wars ? How much J.F Kennedy family benefit from the Mafia. How did they reward to those who are loyal to them?

Myanmars do not want to help Myanmar, especially those who are already outside. Because they are afraid if Myanmar had peace, they will have nothing to do, they will lost their place, their position if they had anything.

You must understand ,that they have no” beliefs” of their own. They only believe what other believe. They are echoing what others are saying. They are opportunists starting from their leader namely Ma Su Kyi. , her assistants ex military personnel. They think they can do better than U Nu. They can do better than U Ne Win. now very well about Myanmar’s realities, yet they are under the petticoat of Ma Su Kyi. Are they men or what?

An organization can become illegal organization., unlawful organization To organise a net work or organise oppositions. They have NCUB don’t they? All the opposition in arms. They are waiting US to drop some more military hard wears. Taiwan, Australia and Thailand will provide them in time. They have no intention of helping Myanmar they only want to destroy Myanmar. What more do you want? Destroying Myanmar will guarantee their position in the long term. Who is prolonging the military rule in Myanmar? On the other hand don’t worry, there are lots of people who are ready and prepared to support the winner, may it be NLD may it be SPDC. In Myanmar there is NLD, USDA, in U.S.A, there are Republican and Democrat.

I heard about one Ponna, who predicted to a young man that he saw marriage in three months time. After the three months the young man went to the Ponna and said three months have gone, he is still single. The Ponna as he did want to be embarrassed , he called his daughter and gave her to him for marriage.

Whoever is there to be in Myanmar in future, I don’t see anybody in the present opposition groups who could govern Myanmar. Neither individually or as a team.
Democracy itself is a very slow process. Majority, consensus you name it Democracy in practical is, a leader is elected by the people. And that leader after he/she was elected, he. she becomes a dictator. That was how BSPP was. People through fear or through common sense voted in BSPP.

People may have voted for NLD. Simply because they were bombarded with propaganda by the western media, they couldn’t use their common sense. they lost it . They voted NLD because NLD was the possible winner. They did not vote NLD to win. They vote for Ma SU Kyi more likely the person they did not know.

What I like to see is there is no more private armies in Myanmar. This important part is still left out to this moment. There must be only one Myanma Tatmadaw made out of all Myanmars. We don’t need private ethnic races armies like they had when the British were in Myanmar do we?
