Somebody is saying "Myanmar can do without U.S." Good, I like that motto as if SPDC did not care sanctions.
In that case why did Than Shwe calling the West and US to lift sanction to meet Daw Su? Why bother Daw Su to denounce the sanction? He went for sanction by killing thousands of opposition and students in spite of international pleas. It is his problem to solve. The world blame Than Shwe for sanction not Daw Su.
The Governments of U.S. and the West and their people are scrutinizing business companies doing business with Myanmar SPDC Government. If found, they will ask loudly to get out of Myanmar as if disgrace of their nation. Companies normally get out of Myanmar they have made business wittingly or unwittingly. It's a shame.

It is true, like many Democratic countries in the world, EU and US Governments don't like Myanmar SPDC Government. They don’t support SPDC.
But they all like Myanmar people. They support Myanmar people for the fight for Democracy. Yes, the world felt Myanmar people deserve better Government than nasty Military Dictators.

If the U.S. did not help Myanmar in the Second World War, Myanmar army was easily crushed by the Japanese. They fought against Japanese troops in Second World War when Myanmar couldn't do without U.S and the Brits. When Myanmar needed their help. Did China help Myanmar anything in history? China just sent their troops to kill Myanmar.
Many young U.S. soldiers died in Myanmar land for Myanmars. We should never forget U.S. compassion Gyogyi. Myanmar should express our thanks and bow US and it's allied, Morning Sun rise, Afternoon Sun top and Evening Sun down three times a day every day. Let's start it tomorrow with the people like you who knows nothing about expressing thanks (Kyezu Kans) to kind persons. We Myanmar have saying "Ta-lote sarboo thu kyezu". Hee hee!

History has proven that without the assistance of the allied forces including the U.S. Burma would not have been free from Japanese occupation. That was in the past.

Nowthe United States Government is giving limited humanitarian aid to Burma to make sure the aid go into the needy areas. The United States has been supporting the democratic forces inside and outside Burma by funding them and giving necessary trainings.

Fulbright Scholarship is another U.S. Government sponsored program for the Burmese students. The U.S. policy towards Burma does contribute democratically desirable effects for the Burmese struggle for freedom and democracy.U.S. sanctions have affected the ruling military brass hats. In fact Burma cannot move on without US involvement but the generals want to be left alone by US because they are paranoid and feel unsafe by the US policy towards Burma. The US policy towards Burma means sooner freedom and democracy for the Burmesepeople. Period!
