88, Generation to consider. 1 Year, 8 Months ago Karma: -5
Dear Patriots,

I still hear Martin Luther King Jr, shouted,
" I had a dream ".

Sometimes, the dreams are the effects of some causes. "Each of us have our own dreams. We, each of us have our own ways of doing things. Our dream here is for out nation for our people. How to buoild a modren developed peaceful nation. That should be the dream of every one of us. Not to dream to annihilate the opponants.

Independent struggle by the Yangon university students led to Burma’s independence. But they were not alone. Do Bamar Asiiayone headed by Thakin Kodow Mhaing, Thakin Ba Sein and many others played great parts in Burma’s independence from Britain, before university students started.

The university students or Burmese leaders such as Ko Aung San , Ko Nu, Ko Than Htun and others, they all done their part very well, they played a good political games against the Empire. They knoew the game very well. Exception of Ko Aung San. They were in and out of the prisons . Yet, British were not their enemies, they were not their foes. They respect the British and the British respected them as equals. There was no love lost between British and them. The British did what they had to do, the Burmese leaders did what they had to do. The wonderful thing about those Burmese leaders was they were capable and playing the British game on the British table and they won.

May be the British were uneducated thugs of that time.

Of course in those days there were Anglophiles such as U Pu, U Paw Tun (Sir), U Saw etc. Yet it was clear between the Burmese who wanted to be free from the British colonial power or from being the slaves of the British. Burmese especially Burmese of Bamar ethnic race have had a special feelings

Any way to compare to that independent struggle for Union of Burma Myanmar today is having a night mare. Everything is out of proportion. Anglophiles , Americanphiles, Muslimphiles and many other philes who wants to claim Burma as theirs.

Who are these people? They are no other then none Burmese. They may be called Burmese because they are born and brought up in Burma but most of them are not Burmese origin.

United States of America may be one country for all people but Union of Myanmar all people want to have their own country. We should be proud of it. United States leaders whoever they may be will do anything and everything to keep United States of America as one country for all people. Having said that United States like to see any other United States wants to see any United and strong countries crumble into pieces into small and weak countries For example, Bosnia Hersegovina, Sebia, Montenegro etc.. Iraq into three countries as Kurdistan in the north , Iraq ( Shi’ite & Sunni parts ) in the middle and Basra region in the s South. Not to mentioned South and North Korea.

While Burma was struggling for independence Burmese leaders were bribed , persuaded by all means to accept a dominion status or to be in the British commonwealth But the Burmese leaders rejected both offers. Our leaders wanted Union of Burma as independent, free, sovereign nation. I hope some Burmese people understand what those words mean.
If the colonial master had nothing to gain from Burma they wouldn’t offer those status to Burma. It was not out of pure love for the Burmese. They have had Burma and the Burmese for 125 years. They showed no love for the Burmese, they never loved them.
Though they were against British colonialism the Burmese leaders called the British as their enemy, Anglophiles or anti British colonialism, The Burmese leaders worked together with the British without losing their cause out of sight. That is the beauty of our leaders. They fought against the British system, they fought against Japanese system . They never fought against the British people or the Japanese people.

Yet “ Ma Sar Ya De Amei- The De Pyit “, they thrown the meat they could not eat into the sand. That is they encouraged the national races of Burma who are not Bamars to secede from the Union , to break Union of Burma into pieces into small countries. That was and is the intention of the neo colonialists, but to break or not to break depends on the leaders of all people of Burma and people alike.

Burmese were/are being accused of not trusting the foreigners. Is there anything to trust during these nearly 200 years, since 1823 to this day? Burmese with good eyes sight, Burmese who can read and write have seen what is happening around the world who are responsible. All Burmese may not be University students or graduates or academics or intellectuals. they have common sense and they have God given brain to use, but not to abuse.

If we go back to 1988, the problems was a very simple small matter The row between RIT students and the locals and Police became sandwich meat and then it grew to 1988 events.

Whatever it was , BSPP had to go ,Interim Government of Dr, Maung Maung was introduced, and then gone again. SLORC came and went and came SPDC. NLD and Ma Su Kyi was put on the scene by the Western media which she became known as made in England.

It is fair to say Burmese do not trust anyone, They don't know who to trust, not even their own people. Because their Burmese saying told them, “ Ko Ga Kyuu -Ko Doo Toung Ma Yone Ne “ it means don’t even trust your own knee, relynon yourself, it could make you tumbling down. Funny isn't it?

So it is apparent and important to do something for the Burmese to trust their own people or some one. In this case to start with the one they all love and trust. Who could that be? Not Sr. Gen. Than Shwe, definitely not Ma Su Kyi , she is out of the question.

We have to remember that not trusting Dr, Maung Maung was a biggest mistake. Some people thought he was a military-phile. Well everybody is entitled to his/her opinion, but could say that was a mistake. What could you expect in a country where military is ruling for 46 years out of 59 years of independence. There were reasons , accept them or not.

Trust or not somebody has to take responsible for Burma where there is no government. Military came in as the government. Military would say they are interim government, because there is no constitution. When there is a constituting they are ready and prepared to hand over the power.

Military coupe is possible wherever there is opportunity, the prevailing situation. It is not for fun at all it sis not a game. Look at Thailand, Military is the only institution and only option where all other attempts are failed to take care of the nation. At least when there is no government military is responsible to safe guard and protect the nation and the people from all enemies. Just like anti virus, anti biotic to protect from all un necessary side effects or intrusions.

Not to trust your own people , trusting the strangers may also be a biggest mistake. A fox and two otters story will be a very good example to all of us.

After seeing with our own very eyes what is happening in the world and in Burma. Although the individual interpretation may be different. What is not different is, in the conflict thousands of innocent people, women and children are killed every day, thousands worth of properties , industries, infrastructures are being destroyed. And the big powers comes in with the big bags money and telling us what to do or else. We have very little choice, because money is everything. There we lost our hard earned freedom, independence and as sovereign nation.

Even now our abilities to build the nation into a developed one are being undermined by former colonial power. Our limbs are amputated one after another. Oxygen is cut of. blood transfusion is not allowed by means of economic sanctions by certain nations. That alone shows that they have no love for us, they have no love for any of us they hate the Burmese as much as they hate the SPDC.

The reasons are and they will never forget that Burmese led by Ko Aung San as the leader of the Burma Independence Army had collaborated with the Japanese and kicked them out from Burma. Burmese led by Ko Aung San refused to be their puppets either as dominion or in the British Commonwealth Nations. Worse of all SPDC which was born out of Ko Aung San’s BIA refused to acknowledge or accept Ma Su Kyi and surrender themselves or the nation to her. After all Ma Su Kyi is another Anglophile who intends to surrender all the Burmese to her husband to shame her father and all the Burmese.

Burmese people have had their experience, under the Japanese, Which means Japanese were not any better than the British.

The trust between and the Burmese and the Western neo colonialists, the trust between the Burmese and the Burmese is the important factor.

National Convention and the New Constitution will be the beginning of mending any difference or building the most needed trust.

“ Ko Wun Nar - Ko Thar Thi ” is one of the Burmese saying. Which means that the pregnant woman knows very well how hurt it is, when she is in labour. Nobody else knows batter than her.

If the 88 generation has learn a thing or two from their past mistakes, if there were any, learn from the old Burmese leaders, and the leaders to teach a thing or two with honesty and sincerity for the sake of the nation and the people, especially 88 generation to be available to work with SPDC, like Ko Aung San and the rest of our leaders did with British in their final days, there is no need of second struggle if you can work together, there is nothing to struggle , everything is going to be fine.

Mind reading can cause big problems, assuming things too much preconceive theories are no advisable.
