Let me start this new forum myself! The "Introductions" forum is your great chance to introduce yourself to other members.

For instance I can tell you that my name i John Einar Sandvand, that I am the founder and owner of this web site and think it is great to see you all here.

I live in Norway, by the way, together with my wife Merete and our three children Johanne, August and Simon Ka-sing (you can see a picture of them on my profile page).

So why is a guy living in Norway running an Asia web site? Because I have had a heart beating for the region ever since I was posted in Hong Kong (1997 - 2000) as Asia correspondent for the Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten.

I have other interests too. I love reading - and I love fishing. I have a summer house on the beautiful west coast of Norway and we go fishing with our boat every day when we are there for vacation.

That was a few words about myself. Why don't you introduce yourself as well? Tell us what you are interested in.

You can also use the forum to send personal greetings to other members, for instance on their birthday.

Just a question : what difference between "to reply" and to "subscribe to a forum" ?

"Reply" is actually posting a reply to the posting you are reading.

"Subscribe to this topic" lets you have automated messages every time there is a new reply to a topic you are interested in following. I have described it more detailed earlier in this posting.

Try it - it is a nice function.
