A friend introduced me to this rising all-female group of musicians called "Twelve Girls Band." The female ensemble is using traditional Chinese instruments to play both Chinese traditional and Western songs.
Other than China, they're also very popular in Japan and Hong Kong. They've traveled to the US for a series of performances. Heard they're coming to the Philippines to introduce they're music before Filipino audiences.
First time I saw them on Youtube.com, I got particularly awed by the amazing music they make out of their instruments. The Chinese violin looks very interesting. I wonder if they're also available in other countries.
