Today, I received several e-mails from the yahoo groups of the NUSP, a student council alliance. I am not a member of the group anymore and have ended my former vocation as a student activist to pursue a more normal life. Apparently, I forgot to cancel my subscription from the group’s account.
The messages tackled a surprising development overseas: Self-exiled Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Founding Chairman Jose Maria Sison has been arrested by Dutch Authorities in Utrecht, Netherlands on Tuesday. Check the TV coverage and another news report.
According to the Dutch National prosecutor’s office, “The communist leader was suspected of giving orders, from the Netherlands, to murder his former political associates in the Philippines, Romulo Kintanar and Arturo Tabara.”
