"One member asked me how to add a picture or a cartoon to a forum

It is very easy

1) copy the picture or cartoon or any image on you computer

2) when you have put the text of your forum on A.O. go down to the bottom of the page and you will see the box "select the image file to attach" go to your image and click on "Open"

Then "submit" The picture will come at the end of your text

3) I had a personnal problem with "On this day in Asian history". I recently found the solution for puting the picture in the middle of the text.

For that, you have to insert the text before the picture and you insert the picture. then click on "Submit"

To add the end of the text, you have to open your forum and to click on "Edit"

There you insert the end of you text

Click on "Submit"

When you add a picture in a forum, take care, the maximum format Hight X larger is 800 and the maximum size is 80. If you picture is too large you get a message.

In this case, delete your message. reduce the size of the picture and send a new forum (when you make a mistake with a picture, you cannot fix it again in the same forum)"

Look at the forum category “ Asia Observer “. There are 2 Asia Observer forums. Check the one that is moderated by 2 moderators. Sandvand and Jacques. Not the other one. Look for the topic/heading “How to put a picture in the forums by Jacques

Here is my personal explanation.


When you’re ready to post, there is a blank address bar and besides the bar there is a word written “browse” under the blank post space. Click on that. When you click on that word, your computer “picture file” will be open. Click which ever picture you choose in your PC file and then click “open” from your file. Your picture in your computer (link) will appear on the blank bar. When that happens, click “submit” under the “browse” word. Your picture from your computer will appear together with your post.

Important note: Your picture in your computer must not exceed certain size which is
“Your image file can be maximum (width x height - size): 200x500 - 500 KB”

Bitmap image is not accepted. JPEG, JPG, GIF, PNG images are accepted. Check with Jacques (or ask him through public or private), the moderator for details.

Note: same goes with uploading picture for your picture profile (logo). Don’t go “Black images” (anonymous) in your profile. It not only look ugly, it identifies that you are “ignorant” by not putting a logo where this site provides you with logos or your own picture. “Black Images” (anonymous) members please don’t take this as an insult. I express what I think, feel and understand according to my insight. After all why not reap whatever is provided to the utmost utilization for there are benefits and privileges to be used for intelligent people. Don’t be an ignorant and show your ignorance by ignoring the possibilities and opportunities. Smart people never ignore important and vital items/matters. Dark or Black images, I mean the ones with "No Image" shadowy ghost like ones.
Well, if ignoring is anyone's choice, be my guest. Be ignorant and identified yourself as letting the possibilities pass un notice!
