Why should I become a member?

Membership is free and gives you added functionality on the web site, including ways to connect with your Asia friends.

Here are some of the advantages of registering with Asia Observer:

• You are allowed to suggest stories to the front page.
  
• You are allowed to post in the discussion forum.
• You can view other users profile pages and define them as you friends.
  
• Tell others who you are and what you are interested in
• You can upload pictures you want others to see.
• You can send messages to other members - both through our internal message system or by e-mail.
  

In short: We want Asia Observer to be a lively community for people interested in Asia. This is a place you can interact with others and contribute you own knowledge and experience.

How do I register?

Registration is easy. In the left column you find logon fields. Click on the link named "register" and you are brought to the registration form.

Here you will select your user name and passord as well as giving some other information about yourselves. Required fields are marked by a blue star. Not all of the information will be visible on your public profile. Look at the icons below the form for further explanation. Your email address will never be public available.

You will receive an e-mail shortly after registration. This is done to make sure that the e-mail address you have give us is indeed valid. In the e-mail you are asked to confirm by clicking on a specified link. Once you have done this, you are welcome to logon at Asia Observer.

After registration we suggest you spend some time creating an interesting profile page.
